Man dies after accidentally shooting himself at party

A man accidentally shot and killed himself at a South Dallas party early Saturday after showing off his pistol to friends, police said.

A group of friends were drinking in the 3400 block of Iroquois Street when Andreous Robinson, 20, went outside around 1 a.m. and shot a few rounds into the air.

Police said Mr. Robinson then returned inside and thought that he'd discharged all of the rounds, so he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, said Sgt. Bruce McDonald, a homicide officer.

Mr. Robinson was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

I worked a self inflicted GSW last year.

Some guy bought an old pistol and loaded it with the wrong ammo. The first time he pulled the trigger, it must have had a light primer strike. When the cylinder came around, he was going to show everyone it wouldn't work and put it to his temple.

The 2d strike ignited the primer and fired the round into his brain. He was a vegetable for almost 2 weeks before the family agreed to let the hospital pull the plug.
