Seal Hunting opinions

Ok Iam not some peta guy or anything like that. But I was on you tube and ran across this thing where in Canada they hunt the hell out of Seals each year. I have no problem with hunting and conservation. But I do have a problem with these guys just clubbing the animal to Death. Why not just shoot the damn Seal instead of making it suffer.Is it because there to cheap to buy ammo or what. A .22LR would work easy and be instant and is also 5 bucks for 500 rds.I just wanted some of your opinions as gun enthusiasts and Hunters. Heres the video VERY GRAPHIC .

Of course its never good to see any animal suffer. Shot a squirrel this past weekend with my 17hmr in the abdomen and it was still wiggling around a bit. I put another one in it out of mercy.

Not a fan of beating them to death either. Wouldn't have a problem with shooting them, but beating them to death is a bit SEBanish.
