Fred Thompson has thrown in the towel...

I think the lack luster style of campaigning as compared to the rest of the crowd, cost him any real chance of getting the nomination.

more to come.

Figured it was a matter of time, but I tried to remain hopeful. This election is gonna be bad, no matter what.

Unfortunately, Fred is just another old white guy, and that one fact will likely preclude you from winning anything in the foreseeable future.

I like Fred, in fact, sent him a few bucks when he announced, but unless the GOP gets its head outta' of its ass, were gonna end up with that fat ankled cunt as leader of our country.

You can't really blame the guy, he didn't jump into this race he was dragged into it. It will be fun to see who gains the vote of his supporters.

Yea, he was the only one I actually WANTED to vote for. Looks like Romney is the best choice.

I use the word "Best" very very very loosely.

Yeah, this sure does limit the choices now that Fred is gone.

The 4 Dems running for president will never get my vote.

pretty much. as long as the closet lefty mccain doesn't get the nomination, it shouldn't be too bad.

His ambivalence on whether or not to "officially" run was his undoing. He also never gave you the feeling he was 100% on board with running for the Presidency.

He's a good guy, but he was never even a contender. And it was his own fault.

To be honest, I bet you he is privately relieved.

Romney is the best choice all around. He's a man of the people. If you've got an opinion.... he agrees with you! It's awesome! He's pro-abortion, anti-abortion, pro-gun control, and anti-gun control, among many other wonderful opinions that polarize America.

I can't say I disagree with him on anything... because he agrees with me. And you. And you. And you. And you. :)

LMAO The only upside to Romney is that he is easily controlled by polls, I know a lot of people liked that Bush stuck to his choices no matter what but its safe to say we've been in reverse for the past 8 years, it would be nice to be in neutral for a while. The downside is that democrats can't wait for Romney to get the nomination, he will be way easier to beat than Huckabee or McCain.

I'm not so sure even Huckabee has that much of an appeal, the way the Dems are looking at it. Romney will get beaten using the same exact strategy the Republicans used on Kerry. No, not making a war hero look like he just went to the National Guard to evade active duty... by calling him a flip flopper every chance they got. Flip Romney is the real deal. He can be worn with anything out on the beach, and still be fashionable.

The only thing about Huckabee is, he's going to be seen as Bush pt. 2. He's religious enough to believe only his denomination is going to heaven. Being a Pentecostal/non-denominational, I'm a little worried he won't represent me, because I'm not Baptist. He thinks Mormons are funny, which is fine... unless you're representing them as their leader. Huckabee's a loon. Flip Romney is undecided. Fred is... oops, sorry. Ron Paul is a smart guy, but too idealistic for America right now. McCain is the only one that will be tough to beat. I know Democrats that love that guy. Especially since Bush's campaign lied about him during the 2000 primaries. That made him the underdog. Especially since he took it so gracefully.

If it comes down to Clinton vs. McCain, McCain's in. If it's Obama vs. McCain.... anybody's game.

The guy supporting Obama is using the flip-flop as a reason to dislike someone? Yeah, Obama talked about being against the war before he voted to fund it. LOL

Tha's all we need is Romney to come and worry about polls before he decides, it will be Bill Clinton all over again.

Seriously, turn it over to FM sometime. Jam out to some music or something. And turn that silly Fox News off.
