View Full Version : Sweeny Todd
Knowing it was a Tim Burton/ Johnny Depp movie I right away thought this movie was going to suck but the wife wanted to see it so the hell with it. This movie is by far the strangest fuckin movie I have ever seen. Not to mention REALLY gory! There were parts of it that made me laugh, some of it made me sick. We saw this movie at the Studio Movie Grill and it's defintely not a movie you want to be watching while tryin to eat.
Was it good? Uhhh, no.
Would I reccomend it? Yeah, but not because it's a good movie. It's the train wreck factor.
I will never, ever eat a meat pie.

Considering Johnny Depp is one of the best actors of our time and Tim Burton is one of the most original film directors, I really don't understand why you would think it's a bad movie, but to each his own.

Its a musical, so i'm guessing that despite seeing Johnny Depp sing in the trailer, alot of people didn't think this was going to be a musical.

I can see where he's coming from. Blow is one of the few movies that I liked Depp in, and Burton is just so out there. It's easy to be turned off by the two of them, imo.

Well shit... we were going to watch it at the Movie Grill tomorrow... maybe we should just eat before and go to a regular theatre. I love Johnny Depp so I was sure it had to be a good movie.

I saw it when it came out and thuoght it was an excellent movie. I think it being a musical setting made it what it is. If it was a standard flick I believe it would have lost a lot.
Do not see it at the Studio Movie Grill. It's pretty damn graphic, but almost comical in how blunt the death scenes are.
I just downloaded it..gonna watch it this weekend

Its a wonderful movie. The singing in the first hour or so of the movie is a lot better than the second half. Depps duet with the pie maker was great when he was singing about "his friends"
Weird seeing a few of Harry Potters cast there...kinda ruined b/c I kept expecting snape to whip out his wand and expeliomous the knife out of depps hand.
I liked it a lot. If you like musicals and blood, then this is hand in hand the best.
