View Full Version : The Texas primaries may be HUGE

Today Mitt Romney won his second state (Nevada) and either John McCain or Mike Huckabee may win South Carolina. In other words, the Republicans have no clear winner and we're getting close to Super Tuesday.

On the Democratic side, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton continue to slug it out with no clear winner.

Right now the polls don't show anyone taking their party's nomination after Super Tuesday.

One month after Super Tuesday comes the Texas Primary. For once these jackasses may have to come here and face us. Not only that, but Texas may be pivotal in the Presidential Election come November.

Normally candidates ignore us. Texas has a HUGE herd of delagates but normally the outcome of the primaries is pretty much set before Super Tuesday hits. Back in 2000, McCain's candidacy was already considered dead before Super Tuesday. But this year its a three way horse race on the Republican side and I have a feeling it won't be over until those boys come down here and kiss our collective asses.

There is an entire month between Super Tuesday and the Texas Primary. That is plenty of time for tons of town hall meetings and speeches. By the time its over I bet you see John McCain with a post digger and barb wire building a fence on the border.

Frankly I don't like any of the so called Republicans with the possible exception of Ron Paul but I don't really care for his ideas on Iraq. Huckabee is a pretender to the conservative thrown he hasn't met a spending bill or tax hike he didn't love. Romney... Geez, Romney was the Governor of TAXATUCHETTS. Hell, he's had illegal immigrants working for him. McCain, well at least he's a known quantity but anyone that hitches his wagon with Kennedy or Feingold is someone that can't be trusted. However I do think Romney or McCain can beat Hillary or Obama. Huck, well shit if Huck is nominated you might as well hand the keys to the White House to Obama. Huck is a fuckin' sham IMO.

But I digress....

The Primaries are coming and they could be extremely important to this country so pay attention and make sure you're registered.

I've changed my mind on Thompson. He is the closest thing we have to another Reagan but he has no balls. He has proven himself to be a pathetic campaigner.

I had wished Gingrich has run but over the last couple of months he has pretty much declared the death of conservatism and small governemt. IMO he has decided that the Republicans are in for a bruising this election cycle. If that happens, he'll be unscathed and in position to take over the RNC. Its actually a good plan because there is no one else capable of taking the reigns.

Pathetic is an understatement. I'm constantly getting e-mails from Thompson's campaign asking for donations, and have even donated a few of my meager dollars, but it seems as if he just really care one way or the other. No more will he be receiving any of my money and never will I support him again.

I think we are going to have to go thru a few bad years of socialism at the helm and the disasters that will ensue from that "leadership" to make people want truly conservative leadership back in office and back in congress again. And when that does happen, the conservatives need to get the job done this time instead of sitting on their asses for 12 years like the last time.

It is all very depressing, and as a small business owner, it is also very worrying.

I hope to god that Ron Paul wins, though that hope is doubtful. Everything he says just makes sense.

Sleep is in short supply right now:(
I just hope that 1) Hillary doesn't get in 2) if she does that nothing to severe is passed and 3) it can all be undone.

A Hillary presidency would be ok if we had the following:

1. A Republican Congress
2. Republicans with a spine
3. Republicans that are real conservatives from a fiscal and governmental standpoint.

We have none of those. Therefore, a Hillary presidency equates to a disaster.

Just look at her recommendations for fixing the mortgage mess. She's a fucking dumbass.

4. we wouldnt have to to worry if the republican party would have produced just 1 attractive presidential candidate! how f-n hard is it to have put in one person that could beat out a black man or a woman. america will naturally vote with gender and racial bias, they just need someone that doesnt suck.

shakes head and fears for the worst.

I can't disagree with that. I can't think of one Republican I would want as our President. Heck, Obama is a better choice than some of these guys.

Ron Paul is acceptable in my book but I accept that he has no shot. Gingrich was my favorite until he showed that he sniffs the political winds a bit too much.

God help us if someone tries to get Rick Perry to be VP. Heh, well I guess there isn't too much of a risk of that happening since he endorsed Guiliani.
