Any story on the car, who the owner is, where he's from, etc...?

Here is the rest of the story!

Fresh off winning the 2007 ORSCA EZ Street championship, Rockmart, GA's David Reese has his sights set on an ADRL title this year. Based on a Tommy Mauney-built 2002 Mustang, Reese's new ride will be motivated by a Proline Race Engines 600 cubic incher fitted with the first twin-Procharger crankdrive ever built. "This thing is going to be a fast car, it only weighed 2,128 with me in it," Reese tipped the Agent. Depending on how accurate his prediction is, Reese said he hasn't yet decided whether to enter Extreme 10.5 or Pro Nitrous, but does plan on hitting all nine ADRL national events this year. You may not have heard of David Reese before, but the Agent has a feeling you'll know who he is by the time Dallas rolls around. (Photos courtesy David Reese)

An interesting setup. I wonder if they are using a belt in there or a straight cut gear drive or what?

Weren't some of the higher end ProCharger's chain driven? I never kept up with that to see if they lasted or not. I remember them being in a bullet proof housing in case they snapped.

wonder if Proline knows what rods are in it? Do you think they left the cam trust bearing out on this one?

I'd like to see some details on this setup as well. Looks like some nice bracket work was done to house the pro's...

Nonetheless, it's gonna be scootin'

how much air can you really push into one intake?

Andrew

how much air can you really push into one intake?

The higher the pressure, the more air mass you can ingest as long as the air charge temperatures don't get too high. It's all VE/rpm/MAP related.

yeah 4 160lb injectors per hole... that will be an alcohol eating beast... i like the holes thru the forward tank to feed the prochargers...lol

I remember them being in a bullet proof housing in case they snapped. They used them for a little bit, I know Doug Mangrum did, then a few months later I was at a FFW race, and noticed he went back to belt driven, he told me why he changed back, but that was years ago, so I don't remember why.

You must have gotten the budget built motor.

That is why you have someone local build your motor.

Why wouldn't twin turbos be easier/cheaper/faster?

No I agree, it's bad ass for sure. I guess they are running in parallel and not in series?

Just wondering. Hell I'm a supercharger fan myself.

Parallel. I've heard rumors of people wanting to run compound turbo/supercharger setups. Maybe the next couple of years will be interesting. Then again, who really needs or can use 4000 hp?

I'm surprised no one has picked up on the fact that the engine in that beast isn't a Ford. It's a ChePontmobile. Nonetheless, very cool.

The ADRL is going the be the last bastion for true innovation in all-out doorslammer racing.

On alcohol with what looks like F3 units, id say hp wise would be closer to 4500.

I know ray-Mac made over 2300 on Scott Clarks with a smaller motor and an F3r on alcohol carb'd. He switched to fuel injected and we know he lost power but we dont know how much as of yet.
