FWIW - I went 7.59@92, 1.5x 60's on a regular basis - so add one more to the group that thinks the MPH is a little on the weak side.

what would cause a mph to be low? I want to say i've been 7.5x's @ 86/85mph before

Could be a dead hook, a weak converter, bad choice in gears.. it could be anything... There's not necessarily anything wrong.

Sounds like you need some NOS, or a chevy. :p

looks like the MPH is low for the ET or the ET is REAL GOOD for the MPH. As mentioned a light car making use on a lil less HP than most have running that same ET.

There are 2 stes of beams that figure the MPH and if you let off the gas after the ET beams and before the second set of beams for the MPH, you can get a low MPH on the time slip. Not sure if that is what happened but it is something not everyone knows.

If that is not the case, maybe the TB, haeder size, head flow, detonation, A/F ratio, etc is hurting top end power a lil.

FMS E-cam, gt40 intake, exhuast and gears with a 125 dry shot. car weight was about 3300 with me in it. it was not the fastest around for sure, but it was the most fun i had when it was running like that.

I used to have a 74 camaro with a cast piston sb 400 and small shot nitrous. ran 7.70s some 60s and more fun in that damn thing then just about anything else.
6 of us went through 3 full bottles of nitrous one night doing dry hops in a parking lot. everyone taking turns, fun times..

I'd rather have the low mph and a dead hook than the crap I usually see. Heres just one of them thats within reach. An auto would be nice though.
