NH republicans are different than IA republicans who are very different from SC republicans. NH is a very liberal leaning state even for the republican party which is the perfect state for people like Clinton and McCain. Kucinich himself got more votes than Thompson which tells you just about everything you need to know about NH.

Republicans are looking thin IMO. I like fred, but i'm not for sure if he is even on the menu. Guliani, mccain, and romney seem like RINOS. Edwards is an obnoxious big city lawyer. In short, i'm pretty disappointed in the current republican lineup.

He might make a good running mate for the Democratic nominee, in spite of what happened when he was in that role with Kerry. To me though he often seems to come across as an actor, complete with the makeup, perfect hair, etc., who's playing a role from a prepared script.

The same way he beat Bush in that state, they like the guy.

I'm starting to swing towards Romney personally. Other than being flaky on gun control I like where he stands on nearly every issue.

I'm not a Republican, but I support Ron Paul. It's a long shot, but possible. Guiliani & Romney seem to be in trouble, Thompson may be DOA. Huckabee will have the Evangelicals, but may flame out with right wingers. None of the Republican front runners is a classic Republican.

Here's how I see it: Guiliani= RINO,McCain= possible RINO, Romney= RINO & flip flopper, Huckabee= Neo-con, Ron Paul= Libertarian, Thompson= Reagan Republican (?) but DOA.

However, in both parties this will quite a battle at least until Super Tuesday & will be VERY interesting to see how this unfolds.

My grandpa spent 5 years in a POW camp during WWII, he was a lot more reasonable than McCain, worked until the day he died to build something lasting for his family and never once changed his mind on a philosophy. He was never President.
I admire McCain for what he did, but I'm still not voting for him.

Hell yeah!!! Amnesty and more welfare for 20 million wetbacks.

I have a lot of respect for John McCain, but my country comes first. Plus I think the "Iraq for 100 years" comment will sucker punch him.

Guilliani - ....N/A

Romney - Different issues depending on the day and crowd. Like Notch, he's a so called "reformed liberal" trying to appeal to what's left of the Bush crowd. :D

Thompson - Lazy and arrogant. We've had enough of that shit but I might be convinced to vote for his hottie wife. I do admire his honesty when he said "I don't want to be president."

Huckabee - There aren't enough preachers, and half of em ain't buying his bs anyway. THE TAXMAN. If he keeps following Pauls script he'll even soon be protecting the Constitution and borders.

Paul - The only canidate that can rightfully beat the Democrats. No disrespect to the Dems, but he has the repair kit for several dangerous issues facing our country. He's the only candidate that can convince me that he will do what he says he will do.

That's a bit dramatic.

If a Democrat wins the election you will be better off with Hillary Clinton than Obama. She is closer to the center than he is.

There is no real "ideal" candidate on the '08 slate that is viable. Example: Fred Thompson is a good guy, but he has effectively sabotaged his own campaign by delaying his "official" entrance into the race. By the numbers someone like him is an afterthought.

I've said this before, but modern politics is about picking the lesser of two evils. You will not agree 100% with any candidate, including your favorite.

All I know is that the next President will either be Obama or Clinton. Fucking shit! This just goes to show that we don't take voting like it should. It has become a popularity contest, not a clash of tough candidates, laying out their attack plans on key issues that will greatly affect this nation, and the people voting for the person they feel can best manage those issues. It's now a race to see who can get Oprah to back them. Jr. fucking High class elections all over again.

Either that, or people will vote AGAINST a party or person out of spite, rather than voting FOR someone. I would love to have to write an essay for every vote casted in order for it to be counted. I can see some people's essay now:

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hate Bush! That and Oprah said to vote for Obama.

what I see is that a lot of people vote based on emotion instead of facts - they really "like" obama but if pressed could not tell you what his platform is, what kind of legislation he has pushed thru in the past, etc. The same way JFK got in. Uninformed voters pulling the handle is a scary thought.

This is why I agree with you that clinton or obama stand an excellent chance of being our next president, which is another scary thought but if people are too stupid to realize what they are voting for then they deserve what they will get.

x2. I just don't feel strongly towards anyone candidate. Rush said it best the other day. A lot of Republicans will more than likely stay home, b/c they don't feel strongly for any one or couple of candidates. A Dem. will get elected and hopefully the next election a true Conservative will step up so that way we won't have 8 years of a Dem. ruining this country.

I just can't back any candidate. Who ever emerges as the candidate for the Republicans will get my support b/c any of them are infinitely better than what the Dems are offering up! As for the Primaries, I am undecided.

I hope people like you who have decided to vote for Paul and claim to be independnt give the ultimate Republican canddiate your vote since you have already decided that none of the Dems are worthy. Paul won't be a viable candidate much longer, not that he is now.

I am still holding out hope for Thompson, but Romney, McCain, or Huckabee would do nicely also.

That's no shit. It's like American Idol but with grave consequences. I'll say again, if I dont have the opportunity to vote for Ron Paul no matter the party I won't vote, for the first time since I could vote. I'm done voting AGAINST someone or for a party as well as voting FOR THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS. I'll vote for WHAT I BELIEVE IN or I won't vote. But that don't mean I'll stop bitching!!!

I think things began to run amuck when American citizens squared off and became more concerned about their political parties and certain single issues than the country. It sure made for a great division and kicked up so much dust it became hard to see clearly anymore. I sure hope we can collectively figure it out.

Yep, they're hustlin votes just like the ole class president routine.

Shit, bro... you and I can go get trashed while everyone else is standing in line at the polls!
