As I promised in a different thread, I would post the exact updates or as accurate as I can - when the information becomes available to me.

I've been contacted by the staff of TXR with the information that was requested. This is straight from TXR, no middle man. Straight to me.

The plans for 2008 upgrads are as follows:

*full concrete guardrail to guardrail
*concrete retainer walls
*concrete to the finish line
*(obviously) no grass to finish line
*New water box area
*bathrooms behind fuel station to be upgraded as well

The tentative date to start this rennovations is by the end of the month. There are numerous factors that affect this though - weather and the scheduling of the contractor. The contractor has already been located, the work is going to be done. It just takes time.

Also, The 'racers' will understand - but everyone also needs to remember, the track will be VERY green until there is enough rubber put down. So, don't expect to go the track and make your "best" on the first day it's open.
Keep an eye on their website for the actual times/dates. I'll add details as they happen.

I *think* she said they estimated a couple of weeks. I seem to remember that in the past as well.

so they are redoing the entire track surface? why mess it up when they could just add concrete to fill in the grass areas instead of digging it up and starting from scratch? just curious....

The whole track is not concrete now. And it has waves in it.

So, past the finish line will remain the same? It seems that is where most cars were having issues? Maybe I am wrong, but I do remeber seeing a few cars get "crossed" after the finish line because of the waves in the track?

The "problem" as I recall it, was actually IN the traps... so, I believe THEY will be gone.
