First time out today at redline

I finally got my black hatch from my old house in louisiana and took it out to redline today. First pass was a less than impressive 8.3@84.6 spinning badly out of the hole to a 1.89 60ft and then 2nd pass I had a much better burn out and blew up the trans when i left the line. Not sure on exactly what broke inside yet but I will be pulling it out tonight to see. :mad:

transmission is a 10 yo tremec 3550 that was on its last leg

No biggie it will be back on the road thanks tonight thanks to me. :D I went 8.6 on motor today when it almost died off the line and 7.26 at 93.5 mph on the spray and two more 7.27s. A certain TT viper I saw ran a 7.2 at 102.

it was 7.3@102 and with a 1.80 60 ft ......yes hllywood we got a look at one of your times slips when you raced a slow ass 95 gt lol N/T FTL!

and yes the car should be up and running again tonight thanks to supercoupe and his spare tko. hopefully with a little tuning and better shifting i can get into the 7s on motor on my little bitty 255s

after the trans let go the car would not start back up and apparently the shock of the trans blowing up was hard enough to trip the fuel pump cut off switch in the hatch

trans was a 3550 untill tonight

suspension is the upr pro series rear with antiroll bar.
8 point bar
70/30's

Nothin really special.

heck still runs the stock clutch fan.

What all you got done to this one , motor wise?
baby .499 lift cam with some box stock twisted wedge heads and a cobra intake.....pretty mild setup. Before the trans let go I was having to shift it at 5k or it would not shift into 2nd and 5500 if i wanted to shift to 3rd or 4th so im hoping to pick up a little more mph with the new trans

lol my times were not impressive but super coupes were....hopefully i can get the car back out to the track soon with the new trans and get into the 7s like i should have been today

the cam works well with blowers and so/so on the spray but it was one of the better off the shelf cam from those days without having to change valvesprings and such.

I drove the car for near 7 years on slicks full time and never broke a thing besides one pos auburn pro differential and a t5. I drove the crap out of the car too. Performance parts aint made to last forever tho.

got the trans out and pulled the d/s out of it and half of the out put shaft is stuck in the d/s. maybe it wont cost too much to fix the tranny so i can recoupe a little money back out of it since i just spent a small fortune today on a tko

p.s. wikipedia says Baywatch was on the air until 01 so you are correct!

sounds like our cars are pretty close....you should come out to redline and we can line up and have some fun......hopefully this tko will shift alot better than the old 3550
