The media does their best to scare away any leaders before they run for office it seems.

The 1980 election was my first. After watching Carter struggle in every way imagineable (home and abroad), and being an utter failure, I knew it was time for a change. I knew little about Reagan, but he had to be better than Carter. I'll never forget the news announcing the release of the hostages in Iran as we were swearing in a new President. Other than 911, I can't remember ever feeling so patriotic towards our country, as I did that night.

On another note: Liberals just THINK Bush is a "cowboy". Reagan was the original "loose cannon", and I loved it. The whole world didn't quite know what to think of him, or what he might do. That little element of doubt kept the world on it's toes for a long time. He proved that in the modern day, power is the only thing that most countries understand. I wonder what the situation would be like in the middle east, if it was 1980? :confused:

I agree, but have you seen "Charlie Wilson's War"?

Bush isn't/wasn't a cowboy (the El Rancho Grande chainsaw films were a mock up. :D ). He's a hired corporate elite servant.

He's been called a "cowboy" by several well known Dems, and that is what I was refering to.
