digital camera question

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but here's my question. I just bought a digital camera yesterday and it's got a slot for an SD card. Well whenever I put the card in and turn the camera on there is a message that pops up on the screen that says card error. It's a 1GB SanDisk microSD card that I bought a few months ago. Do I need to have a certain kind of SD card or what? The camera is a Fujifilm F480 if that makes any difference. Thanks

Sounds like a bad card to me.

Someone has to ask... Are you sure you put the SD card in correctly?

You probably need an XD card instead of the regular SD.

Yeah it's in the right direction. Tried to flip it over just to be sure but it won't go in that way. Im trying to find my other card that is 512mb to see if it works. In the owners manual of the camera they have a fujifilm card pictured, but surely it doesn't take only fujifilm cards right?

does it take micro SD or regular SD? my camera takes a regular SD

Its the one my Fuji uses. Looks like an SD but its not. You can get them at Best Buy.

It takes the regular SD. I use the micro SD in my phone. In the owners manual it says it will take the XD and SD. I switched the lock position on and off on the card and still get same message. If all else fails I guess I'll go buy an XD card after the cowboys game is over

Went and got an XD card and works perfectly. Thanks for the help guys :D
