First he did a 180 on the environmental warming idea
(http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22424845)
Bush finally warms to warming
At end of term, in search of a greener legacy, president highlights warming
and now he's done a 180 on chld health care (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22429820/).
Bush OKs children's health insurance extension
President signs legislation after twice vetoing expansion attempts
I wonder why he has had such a change of heart in such a quick time?

Looks to me like bush is simply signing more spending bills
or maybe he is thinking about his "legacy" since the end is drawing near. Or maybe he is not concerned now about coming out of the closet as a quasi-liberal.
I think he just does whatever his handlers tell him to do.

Bush is doing the jobs he was put in place to do (that is not a compliment). ;)
It's the American public that has gone, or got pushed off the deep end.
And yeah, he's probably trying to rescue his legacy.
Probably is no coincidence that his 2008 budget just sailed through congress. When your party is the minority you've got to give the other side what they want to get what you want.

I really hoped Bush would push a very conservative agenda during his second term, but I have been very disappointed. I still believe he is doing what he thinks is best, I just don't agree with him much anymore.
I think Clinton did what he did strictly for political gain, I think Bush is doing it because he thinks it is the right thing to do.

Bill Redman, Former NC State Senator
THIS IS A TAD DISTURBING TO ME. NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY HE WILL NOT WEAR THE AMERICAN FLAG ON HIS LAPEL. AND BY THE WAY, I'M NOT A RACIST EITHER! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ THE MISSION OF THE CHRUCH AND OTHER ITEMS IN THEIR WEB SITE. IT APPEARS TO BE MORE SOCIALIST THAN CHRISTIAN. YOU CAN HEAR WHAT APPEARS TO BE SIX MONTHS OR MORE OF SERMONS PREACHED BY VARIOUS MINISTERS IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN. I PULLED ONE ITEM FROM THEIR MISSION STATEMENT AND ADDED IT BELOW. ANYWAY, I THOUGHT YOU NEEDED TO KNOW MORE OF OBAMA'S BACKGROUND. I HAVE DECIDED THAT THE LOYALTY OF THIS CHURCH IS GOD AND AFRICA, NOT AMERICA. NOW IT IS YOUR TURN TO DECIDE. BLESSINGS AND KTF, BILL
. . .
Obama mentioned his church during his appearance with Oprah. It's the Trinity Church of Christ.
Please read and go to this church's website and read what is written there.
Barack Obama is a member of this church and is running for President of the U.S. If you look at the first page of their website, you will learn that this congregation has a non-negotiable commitment to Africa. No where is AMERICA even mentioned.
Notice too, what color you will need to be if you should want to join
Obama's church... B-L-A-C-K!!! Doesn't look like his choice of religion has improved much over his (former?) Muslim upbringing.
Are you aware that Obama's middle name is Hussain? Strip away his nice looks, the big smile and smooth talk and what do you get? Certainly a racist, as plainly defined by the stated position of his church! And possibly a covert worshiper of the Muslim faith, even today. This guy desires to rule over America while his loyalty is totally vested in a Black Africa!
I cannot believe this has not been all over the TV and newspapers.
This is why it is so important to pass this message along to all of
our family & friends. To think that Obama has even the slightest
chance in the run for the presidency, is really scary.
Click on the link below:
This is the web page for the church Barack Obama belongs to:
http://www.tucc.org/about.htm (copy and paste in your browser)
"THE FORTUNATE WHO ARE AMONG US COMBINE FORCES WITH THE LESS FORTUNATE TO BECOME AGENTS OF CHANGE FOR GOD WHO IS NOT PLEASED WITH AMERICA'S ECONOMIC MAL-DISTRIBUTION!"
Like the last 8 president's?
Pretty much! :o
Obama's church's site is as full of shit as the black panthers' new website. I think a lot of "African" organizations exist because black people feel bad about not having any direct experience with Africa, i. e. calling it the mother land. I don't call myself, "European." The case is presented all too often that it's some holy land where everything's blessed and they're all one people. In reality, it's so screwed up that aid actually hurts it further.

I think the funny "flip-flops" are the ones where they say something contradictory in the same sentenece or same debate. I think Kerry and Hillary have that definition squared away.
The "Ivoted for it before I voted against it" and the "I support DL's for illegals and then saying illegals should not have DL's" are going to be forever classics! (BTW, these are paraphrasing, not intended to be taken as literal quotes, you should be able to get the point)

If you ever allow yourself to think outside of context, then you'll realize you're not as smart as you think you are. I never claimed to have knowledge outside of any normal intellectual capacity, just possess reasoning skills and can make connections and distinctions between perceptions and reality. I only speak normatively, so as to presuppose with perfect certainty that my fellow man shares my ascent towards understanding and the truth. I do not claim to know what I do not, so how do you justify telling me I'm not as smart as I think I am? For one, how do you know? For two, how would leaving school make me realize that I'm only as smart as I am?

Zoroastrianism wasn't the world's first monotheistic religion. Zarathustra started that shit roughly 600 BCE. Judaism began roughly 13th century BCE. In all actuality, if anyone could ever find out who wrote the Book of Job, you'd be getting real close.

Notice I havn't ever gotten into actual discourse with you. I find you more a humorous entertainment, but a dullard topically. You have been fortunately given a few things (your job, to start) and you are "working" toward a degree that is a little less than challenging (especially if you are taking it from a university in the DFW area). None of this would be so bad, if you didn't try to rub it in everyones' face. So if you wanna play high and mighty, looking down your nose, I'll be glad to reveal your actual shortcomings.
What do I have that you don't? A brain...that's a good start. You aren't near as smart as you like to pretend, and several people here realize it. Those who don't, take our words for it. Although, I will say, I'm impressed that someone of your mind can string together words in a coherent fashion.
I had a friend go from an EE degree to Philosophy, simply because all he wanted to do was get stoned and play disc golf. I guess the lack of workload is good for those in the service industry.

I don't actually care what your situation is. It's all unverifiable anyway. There's way better stuff out there than old Fred, too. It's distressing to see little knuckleheads like you so fixated on that shit. Why can't you focus on something a little more harmless like some Jungian parable interpretation? Go read some of his stuff and then Revelations and Ezekial. That'll blow your hair back. Stop and breathe for a little while and just focus on slowing down before you post. Your venom doesn't harm any of us. It just reinforces your own bad opinion of yourself. Don't try to say you're so happy anymore, either. You're not. Not entirely true. My approach may at times seem dogmatic, emphatic, and sometimes fanatical, but that's just how I roll. I aim to better understand things, as well as encourage mutual understanding through critical discussion. I've come to understand my emphatic approach to philosophy as one that can only be described as intellectual bigotry. It's a courageous fixity of ideals in me that sometimes, I'll agree, can be seen as stubborn fanaticism. This makes me kind of a caricature for you guys, but it's just because I'm kind of hard to understand, as I speak of ideals with respect to everyday life. Sometimes I'm senselessly attacked by people that don't care much for understanding, but instead attempt to falsify my thoughts and beliefs. My aim is to further understanding in search of the truth. I'm a lover of truth, and these days it's so hard to find. But there's so much ignorance and groupthink inspired stupidity, and not enough carefully constructed argument arranged in such a way that answers are uncovered, and thought-provoking insight paves the way for the ascent towards the truth.
Nietzsche is not everything i read or have read either, I've barely just begun to scrape the surface with nietzsche. I only put one of his book titles in my sig because i thought it was funny and pertinent. But the reason i changed my name to zarathustra is because I am persian. Just like Zoroaster, or zarathustra. After all, I do have a shoulder-to-shoulder chestpiece tattoo depicting the faravahar (symbol of persian empire and later the symbol for zoroastrianism--winged disk-half man half bird). My culture brings out alot of pride in my diction, so I might seem fanatical and unreasonable at times, but who doesn't like a good thinker, regardless of what they're thinking? Besides, around here, there's alot of seriously inferior souls with respect to reasoning and understanding. There's not much I can do without getting frustrated and complicating things with harsh undertones and a talking-down attitude. Some people just literally don't understand me, and it's not because I'm wrong or my opinions don't matter, or I'm a conservative or a liberal. My way of thinking can't be categorized or sloganized, classified or generalized. My way of thinking transcends dumb verbal tags, that stuff is played out. I ask the questions that piss people off, so much that they personally attack me with everything they've got. And most of the time it's pretty sad...
I have read the book and agree with alot of nietzsche had to say in it, but I don't base my philosophical stance on anything he said. After all I mean, he did go clinically insane just before he passed, and you can't have genius without that hint of instability. Having said that though, I would like to delve deeper and pick Nietzsche's brain some more, he was such an interesting man and a gem to western philosophy...
I'll close with my favorite quote
God is dead, and we have killed him.

In the thread about lead bullets you posted in The Armory, you didn't seem nearly as concerned about finding the truth as you did about proving a bad (ignorant and stupid?) hypothesis true.

How many times will you bring that shit up? I didn't prove my hypothesis true, i proved it false. I don't have a problem with that. In my process of gathering scientific information and historical facts, I came to a conclusion that disproved my original hypothesis, while you and many other people moved to disprove the fact that people had died of lead poisoning and further moved to ridicule me. My final conclusion disproved my hypothesis, but it also proved that it had happened, was unknown to both sides of the argument. I found the truth didn't I? Why is this so difficult for you to understand, sir?

How many times will you bring that shit up? I didn't prove my hypothesis true, i proved it false. I don't have a problem with that. In my process of gathering scientific information and historical facts, I came to a conclusion that disproved my original hypothesis, while you and many other people moved to disprove the fact that people had died of lead poisoning and further moved to ridicule me. My final conclusion disproved my hypothesis, but it also proved that it had happened, was unknown to both sides of the argument. I found the truth didn't I? Why is this so difficult for you to understand, sir?No, you never fully, completely conceded that you were wrong. Your last post in the thread questioned my reading abilities, started backpedaling, and ended with "i guess in a way i was wrong." Bullshit, you were very wrong, and I explained that, very thoroughly and very civilly. I know your teachers told you once upon a time that there's no such thing as a stupid question, but next time you have one of those questions, write it down, read it back to yourself when you're not, uh, flying on a higher plane of existence, and determine whether or not it's worthy of critical thought and intelligent discussion before you post it up here.On a side note: You would change my name in your sig, follower....What's the big deal? It's not like you didn't post it.

Are you fucking serious?
Fuck you and your skewed ass way of looking at things, you ugly mother fucker. I know you might think you're above me intellectually, but buddy, you've got alot to learn. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on, Jack.
How about who the fuck are you to tell me what to do? I'll post up whatever the fuck i want, wherever I want, thank you. And you can drop whatever obsession you have for me, it's old. I know it's hard to stop paying attention to me, but maybe one day you'll muster up the courage to stop following me around and trying to be like me, cunt.
Why don't you go play with your guns, or try to get laid or something...

Now, now, I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't post, just that you might want to put a little more thought into the things that you post up for intelligent discussion. Posting up ridiculous crap like the lead bullet thread, no matter how hard you try to intelligently discuss it, can only make you look like more of an idiot. How much thought did you put into that before you posted it or before you started questioning the people that answered you?
