This comes down to one thing: UT's pass defense. If UT can pressure Rudy Carpenter and get some decent coverage on the WRs, Texas wins. If the UT D-line continues to underachieve, and the corners continue to give the WRs a 15-yard cusion off the line of scrimmage, ASU rolls. Based on what I've seen this year, I have no reason to believe the latter won't happen. I'm going into this game thinking ASU wins, but a UT win would be nice.

for the sake of the Big 12, I want UT to win, but it's gonna be a challenge.

It really shouldn't be all that difficult. Bowl wise, the PAC 10 can't compete against Big 12.

Tell that to Aggy last year, OU in the '05 Orange Bowl, etc. Anything can happen.

Texas up 21-0, Arizona St. driving about to score. The quarterback gets nailed, fumbles, (laterals), as the ball is rolling to towards the sideline the Texas ballboy goes out on the field to pick it up. Texas recovers, it's ruled their ball. Replay reversed it, AZ St. scores a TD.

They didn't know what hit 'em. Seems as if "Rudy", their QB, popped off a little too much before the game. The 'Horns about killed that motherfucker. LMAO at the players chanting "Rudy", as he was stumbling off the field after getting his cock knocked into his watch-pocket. ..again. Another classic case of an alligator mouth with a tweety bird ass...

The Big 12 is liable to kick some ass in the post season. I am officially rooting for the Big 12 teams to bust that ass in their bowl games, and give them the respect they deserve.

That had to be the two UGLIEST college colors known to man. Arizona State's helmets were Puke Yellow, and then there was t.u. which is now the second worst color in college.

BTW: Nice win 'sips. I was worried AState might be a little over rated, but I went with them anyway. Looks like the 'sip defense finally showed up for an entire game for the first time this year.

Just one question for everyone on that "illegal touching" play. Any of you that know football know that when the referee threw his flag (which he later picked up) for illegal grounding, that meant he thought it was a forward pass and should've been blowing his whistle to kill the play at the same time. How come they didn't put the ball back on the 14 and call it 4th & 10 bringing on a field goal try. No one is talking about the fact that the official has essentially called the play dead once he throws the grounding penalty. I'm betting he tooted his whistle once and then swallowed it and wouldn't 'fess up to it.

Vertnut
12-28-2007, 09:21 AM
That entire play was a clusterfuck from the snap. The ref stayed in a state of confusion until he realized it was NOT an automatic first down, but 4th down.
If it was intentional grounding, then the play would have been dead from that point, and the "illegal touch" would have never come into play.

This is what I've been trying to explain to everyone at my house. When the ref threw the flag to call grounding, he should've blown the play dead immediately and at the same time. They did a terrible job officiating the game. In the second half, you had the line judge calling a catch (the play ASU reviewed) when the WR had his back to him. He's spotting the ball and calling a catch without even looking at the umpire coming from the center of the field signalling incomplete and that the ball hit the ground. They were terrible. Good thing the 'Horns were not.
