I don't know of the technicalites of what is MMA and what isn't a Gay Fest . . . but some dude died at a MMA type event in College Station a few years ago.

this is why i didn't post about this here. lol at the idiot comments on here already.

this is the 1st death in a sanctioned mma event. The only other death that I know about was Douglas Dredge. he died after some russian mma event with no pre fight medicals, no emt's, etc. That was a few years ago.

Sammy had been in a coma for a while.. he had a stroke a few weeks before he died but never came out of the coma. From eye witness accounts the fight didnt look bad. There are some rumors that he hit his head on one of the ring posts but they are padded. But as far as the finish of the fight, it did not look like a beating. Either way its sad... especially since he is leaving a wife and young child behind..
The guy was 35 yrs old and living out his dream. RIP Sammy
