Now see...I never understood the living room. Its the place that no one is allowed in, much less to sit on its furniture. Finally, a remodel making the unusable, usable.

Thats badass! You don't see too many bars in homes these days.

I never understood the concept of having a formal dining and a dining room, same for the living room and formal living room. I had both in my previous house and it was a waste of space.(with the expection of the holidays but that's twice a year).

Yep! We def. didn't want a couch or the usual. This is the first room you see when you enter the house. We are thinking about putting in real hardwood but I just don't know what a good combo would be.
I'm glad ya'll like. Everyone that comes over has to be pryed from that room.
IMO floors would look great, i'd shitcan that chandelier also, looks out of place.

Its kid of hard to find a chandelier that ties in with it. I'm trying to stay away from the cheesy shit and keep it upscale.

Only thing missing is Shiner Bock and a couple other brews on tap. The tap handles would complete it!

it will be easy to find a matching floor for that color wood.
very nice addition. where did you get the bar? B&B?
I'm not into handing out casual compliments. That shit is very, VERY nice. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back? I'm guessing (more like hoping) around $3500 for everything. Am I close? If so, it looks well worth it!

I'd guess you're off by at least 5k.....that bar alone is likely 6-7k

It was around 8k plus the liquor and Barstools. Each stool was around $500. It also has a two mini wine fridges with a glass doors. Does anyone have a hook-up on liquor? :) (It's going pretty quick)

No shit? I've seen some VERY similar ones for a lot less. That one looks really nice though.

Yeah, bars are expensive, most folks have no idea unless they've shopped around for them. I ended up getting a used one off the internet that was custom built for the gy and he paid $16k for it a few years back
As for discount liqour, head to Mexico or go on a cruise etc. You have to pay taxes and duties but it's still much much cheaper. Here's a pic from my last Mexico haul :
