F**k I have been sitting here for 40 mins waiting for the damn server to find me a room to play in. I just bought the game over the weekend and everyday its the same damn thing.
Trying to join potential matches...Trying to join potential matches...Getting match quality...Trying to join potential matches
Are you telling me theres no matches, no rooms that I can play in and why does it take up to an hour to find a f**king room bitch :mad: Socom can't get here soon enough

My friend has the same problem on the 360 version, then again mine runs fine. Jus like i've seen it run fine in the PS3

I have it on 360 and it works great! Havent played on the PS3 online yet, but I hear it sucks. :(

I get that sometimes also. I have a 360. I waited 30 min once, got tired of waiting and turned it off. It's effin irritating.

The game itself is badass in single player, its just the online portion is not setup very well from the Maker of this game. I don't think they put my thought into hwo they were going to run the online part of the game and now are trying to fix it

Is the poor online play exclusive to PS3, or on 360 as well? I've played on 360, and it's great, although there are several areas in which it could improve.

I don't know about the 360, never have played. From what I read on countless sites its a console problem for both systems. On the PS3 when you can get into the game its fun, has nice rackup and options to customize weapons and whatnot. I'm sure the Xbox is the same. Its just trying to get the servers to find a room that is frustrating. The only way I can get in is if my brother in law invites me into a room. I hope Socom doesn't have this problem
I finally got online on ps3. Took awhile. I got promoted a few times. I agree with what static says. Single player game is awesome, but when it comes to online, it pretty much sucks. You shouldn't have to wait no more than a minute. I've been waiting up to 10min. I've been borrowing Resistance, so I'm gonna save up and buy it. Game is awesome both regular and online. They even came out with 2 or 3 new maps.

I have NEVER had any of these problems with my 360 version.
Sometimes, it loads too fast for me to even start loading a bowl. :D

i sometimes play COD4 online :D, but its on 360, and when I do play which is sometimes I rarely have problems. Online playing on it kickass

Same here. Online 360 is great. Always plenty of games going on no matter what time you play. I just got done playin as a matter of fact. :D
I play 360 online all the the time and I have never had a problem. :D

i only played the single player on my friends ps3.
im guessing its worth it for the multiplayer.

Yea, you ought to try it online. I thought single player was pretty badass, till I started to play online.
COD4 > Resistance--------single game play hands down.
COD4 < Resistance-------- right now, till they fix the online. It just sucks cuz I'm just waiting to get to room, where as in Resisitance, it's a few sec.

I play the PS3 version every night. I have those problems sometimes, I just log off then reset my modem/router and everything works fine.

Playing "Free-for-all" is gonna send me over the edge one of these nights. I only play it to finish off some of my challenges, but gawd dammit, you can't move anywhere in those games without gettin shanked!! :mad:

lol member when we got caught in Free for All in Shipment? I got the gauge and was just pump pop, pump popping fools, and that was a week or two ago when I wasn't near as good at aiming... :D
I like Search and Destory and Domination the best... HQ is pretty fun too I guess, except when you keep re-spawning on the wrong side of the map and get OWNED like we did last night... :mad:

And if you play online a lot, and can't spring for $10 a month, then online play is the wrong hobby to have with a console.

I can bitch about it all I want cause it is my thread but it doesn't mean I like playing online all the time.
I'm complaining about the online issues with COD4.
I don't like the 360 because I like the playstations

IMO, I think they worried about gameplay and graphics more than anything else and little emphasize on the online portion. I've never played it on 360, but I've some similar problems. I only played 2 other games online(Madden & Resistance), which I had no problems getting online. Few seconds and game on.

Resistance is great online and co-op, but not as much fun as COD4 single player... I just rented COD4 for PS3 and I haven't had any trouble online, it takes a little longer to find a game, but once your in it works really well :cool:
I've been playing GT4 a lot... can't wait for GT5 :D

Finally unlocked the HQ. Shit is awesome. Played like 10-11 games, won about 7-8 or them.
