Im debating wether or not to rebuild my shop using the exsiting cinder blocks or to tear it down and rebuild it from scratch. Im also stuck on the decision wether or not to have a metal shop built or build it out of wood so I can most of the work myself. My shop has 3 walls built out of cinder blocks,1 wall out of 2X4's and cheap wood panels, slabs poured at seperate times so theres a 3/4in difference between the two slabs,a roof that needs to be replaced(rafters and all),dumb loaction for a garage door, and the roof isnt tall enough to install an automotive lift(8ft ceilings).
So what Im basicly asking is should I rebuild it myself using wood or wait until I have the money and have someone build a metal shop for me?

Wait till it burns down/tree falls on it/brakes go out on the car and then use the insurace money to build a sweet metal building.

Why not build a metal building yourself? They have bolt-together kits if welding is the issue.

I'm in the middle of deciding what to build too, and I'll probably go with a prefab metal bolt-together kit.
