Hi guys. This week I started my new website and I am needing a little help. My members are wanting the addition of a "remember me" button next to the login box. I am using phpbb2. I thought it would have been included in the template, but it isn't apparently.
Anybody well versed in phpbb know how to do this? Would it be the same as vbulletin? Here is the link to the site. www.texasstreetcars.com
Thanks,
Will

On my site I think it is in the settings that you set up to allow it or not. In the same place where you allow them to stay logged in fro certain periods of time... if it isnt I can check mine and see...

Ok go ahead and log in to your admin panel, and then look under General Admin tab look under Configuration under the General Board Settings. You will find a selection that says "allow automatic logins", and then you have the option of selecting yes or no. Click on yes, and the next time you log in a "log me in automatically" button should appear on the login screen.
Hope that helps.

Yes PLEASE enable this, Will. I'm sick of logging in all the stinkin' time.
:D
BTW, my old phpbb I run at work does not have this option in the Config panel. The "Log me on automatically each visit:" is just always on.

Yah it should be a default setting, if you don't have an option at all, then you may need to update to the latest version...the version that I run for our mustang club is up to date, and says so on the opening admin panel. If yours needs an update it should tell you on the opening screen.

sounds like it is a template problem not a setup issue... when you change back to a default template do you see the checkbox?

you guys are right, the default template (subSilver) does the same thing.
As you guys said, when I go to the admin panel and configuration, it does not have the option to allow users to stay on. I am using phpbb2. If I run phpbb3 will this remedy my problem?
