OK my friend just keeps kicking my ass in 05 NCAA football on Xbox someone give me advice on how to make it a closer game. He usually beats me at least by 5 touchdowns :( he seems to always be able to catch the ball!!!!!! I can't seem to get any pressure on his QB. Also when I try to catch the ball I always drop the dam ball but my running game is pretty good I have beat him a couple of times because I run so much he gets cocky and chooses to crowd the line and by some miracle I throw the ball usually in a slant pass and the receiver actually catches it.

I don't play x-box and I can't remember what version of NCAA football I usually play (Joey Harrington on the cover). I always play a 3-4 or 4-2 defense and pick a play that will blitz one of the inside linebackers while the tackles he blitzes between shoot the gaps so the linemen are forced to block out and open a hole. Doesn't always work as text book as that, but it is a good D for getting pressure. I also change the linebacker I am going to blitz to the fastest guy I can put at that position. On offense, all I run are pass plays where the recievers run outs, the RB goes into the flat, a crossing pattern and roll to the side the receiver is running to, wait for him to clear the entire defense and get on the same side of the field I was rolling to and he is usually open, or run some sort of double move, fake in/fade pattern and gun the ball as soon as he breaks to the corner. Out patterns work like a champ though, just gun the ball as soon as the receiver breaks out, or just before....oh yea, don't touch anything to control the receiver until you are halfway decent.

OK finally I figured it out I am running a 4-3 defense and using my audibles when he crowds the lines to keep him honest when I am running. Last night played him twice won both times 56-17 and 35-21 HELL YES!!!!! dam he was talking so much trash to me hahaha he is done from now on.
