Well come to find out emachines are prone to faulty power supplies that fry out your motherboard.
Now here's my options:

I can buy a new motherboard and power supply that wil cost about $200 roughly or I can buy a new computer for about $300.

Either way I'm looking at some issues, I've heard if I replace the motherboard I might lose XP so I'd have to get it put back on the computer.

If I get a new computer how hard is it to get all the info from my old computer's hard drive and put it on my new one?

I appreciate any help

Just get a whole new computer. Then when you get the new one, install the drive into the old one, and do MigWiz. That will transfer most of your settings and whatnot.

Its not hard.

gotapex.com for great dell deals.

I would go the whole new computer route. Emachines suck as it is! When getting the data off your old HD its is pretty easy. I always take the HD out of the machine stick it in a usb enclosure and get the data off that way. If you need help shoot me a PM and I will see that I can do.

Thanks guys, I'm looking for a new one right now. I'm just going to put my hard drive on my new one. How hard is this to do? Can I just take it out of my old emachines and put it into say a new dell and that's it?

Never done this before
