Is 12 ga ok for a fridge calling for 15A? Inside sticker says 6.5A so I assume 15A startup, 6.5A running. I installed an extra 20A breaker a few years ago and all that's on it is an attic fan that draws 3.3A per the sticker on it (no idea about startup). The plan is to connect to it and drop a line through the wall for this new (to me) fridge in the garage. I would guesstimate <40' from breaker, up to the current connection for the fan and back down to the proposed outlet. Also, the connection to the fan is pretty close to the opening in the roof for the fan. Does this require any additional shielding per code?

I think 12/3 will work, but Im not 100%. Go to Home depot by the bulk wiring and they have a chart to what each gauge is rated for at certain distances. And when you guestimate the length...Id add a good 10' to what you think you need.

12/3 is ok if you are under 100 feet. 20 amps max
