Anybody own/shoot one of these guns?

Is it reliable?
Accurate?
Controllable?

It's pretty heavy and much of that weight seems to be in the barrel area. I'm sure that makes the recoil more controllable, but I didn't really enjoy shooting it that much.

yeah i have the 50 cal. i like it its not as bad as ppl say if u got the money for it then get one u wont regret it

My dad bought one in .50 AE a month or so ago. The grip is huge and the grip and weight make handling it a little awkward. It does have quite a bit of recoil, but it's not painful.

Accuracy, from what I can tell, is pretty decent. I just like shooting aluminum cans and pizza boxes, though.

The only problem we had was that the slide locked back on a full magazine a couple of times after the first round, but that problem has worked itself out.

If you want a good .50 pistol why don't you just get the S&W 500. Good reliable weapon and hell of fun to shoot not to mention it's a lot lighter than the DE 50

its a shit load lighter, cheaper, and not as damn bulky and akward to hold. Plus, there is no dodging the shells

I have a 454 Casull (which is the greatest hand gun caliber IMOP) it cost over a dollar a bullet. DE 50cal or the SW 500 is even worst. I don't know the size of your wallet but that's allot of coin for a handgun round.

I like shooting it, it is heavy, and the slide springs are like 3 times stiffer than any of my 45s.... the unique characterisitic that messed with me the most was the sound..... it is louder than either of my other 44 mags. I wear what would be considered triple hearing protection, fitted plugs and muffs and my ears still ring after shooting it.

no joke on the 44! My friend had one that he shot twice before trading it. I went with him once and wore my usual ear plugs, and it was still LOUD as fuck :o

I have a Ruger .41 Blackhawk that I reload. Ammo is now about ~23$ for 100 rounds of 210gr JHP. I can get some 210gr JSP's from Remington and get about 500 rounds of ammo for 70$. Anyone that shoots a lot of pistol can learn to reload pretty easy. Once you get the hardware investment, it's cheap.

I noticed some of the Desert Eagles were avail. in .41 Mag with 6in and 10in barrels. I understand they are hunting/target guns.

I can load my .41 Mag up light for plinking or heavy and get better than 44 Mag performance. Of course, with a semi-auto it might be more particular on the load and OAL.

Looking at another firearm in 41 mag. Marlin 1894, S&W, or the Desert Eagle.

As far as big caliber pistols...

There are big animals like beer, elk and moose where a large caliber would be handy.

.41 and .44 are now pretty small compared to .454 Casull, .480 Ruger, .500S&W.

i thought it was a cool gun but after shooting it, im way to small to own one and be a confident shot with one. i still think the gun is cool, just not for me.

went shooting with one once. A buddy who is a local gunsmith bought it to go bear hunting with his brother up north and never got around to getting up there so we took it out and blew the cobwebs out of it. First impression was it was too much to shoot but after he showed me the correct way to shoot it I had no problems. Seems I, like a lot of people I hear about, was fighting the recoil too much and it would stovepipe rounds and hurt my wrists. After learning to let it roll up a little more it wasnt bad at all.

All in all, I would consider it if I had a grand laying around that I had no plans for. They arent practical for much other than maybe showing off to buddies.
