theirs looked free standing. i saw one on the web... it looked like they had drilled into the concrete slap.. slotted in the poled and then bolted it to a ceiling beam too.

I got one but it ended up being too short for our bedroom ceiling. :( The lady I bought it from assured me it would work but it is just too short to be sturdy. I am selling it to a friend and will have to get something different later.

Go to www.poleaddiction.com and they have several reviews of different kinds of poles. Good information! Ugly website but good information.

My wife took one of the stripper classes at The Lodge with some friends. She had a new appreciation for dancers/strippers after that work out. Unfortunately my wife has arthritis so no climbing the pole for her.
btw: off topic but if anyone catches the King of Queens episode with Doug on a stripper pole.....one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Lucky man you have there. Thanks for the mental image this morning.

I'm going to have some signs made up.
1) Soccer Mom Monday's - Test out your pole dancing!
2) Soccer Mom Sunday's - Test out your pole dancing!
3) Soccer Mom Saturday's - well, you got the drift by now, right?

When's the party?!
lol! No clue. I'm waiting for the official close date right now. Then a maid service and carpet cleaning service to get the curry smell out of the house.
Set up pole, influence local soccer moms, then post party that GTJules won't come to.
That sound like a decent time frame?

I don't see how you find quiet time there! Not to mention all the noise she makes when she has company!

I told her that for the neighbors' sake and mine, please tighten up the screws on that damned bed.

My wife knows a lady that will come out and give your wife/gf or whatever lessons on the pole.

Coolest thing you can do with a stripper pole is put in on an enclosed car trailer with a swingout.
That way if your woman won't do it for ya you can have the trailer park bitches at the track use it. BTW I say this because my buddy had one on his :D
I'm putting one in the Living Room in front of the huge bay window. Neighborhood tax rates should sky rocket. I need to find a Chipendales tux.

Seen one at some friends college house in Orlando. An extra bedroom off the living area had a small platform with strip lights beneath the edge of it. Stripper pole all the way to the ceiling and chairs around the room... lol. At all the parties though, everyone was cramped on the patio playing beer pong.

This one looks good if you don't want to do a stage set up.
