God, someone talk me out of this...

The German Sports Gun .22LR is finally coming to the states. They are in the country and waiting to get through customs. Already OKed by BATF.

1000 were imported and 500+ are spoken for (only one dealer right now)... and I'm soooooo close to ordering one.

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l128/stroked71/GSG5Medium.png

This is the long awaited German Sports Gun 22 LR cal. ****SEE COPY OF GERMAN SPORTS GUN MANUAL AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

They come with a 24 round 22LR mag with a a2 stock, a full length barrel just like a HK 94 but with a fake suppressor screwed over the barrel. Have a wide 94 forearm and a2 stock. We will have these in hand in 2/3 week and are PRE-SELLING them for 499.00 plus 11.00 SH and 2% for CC use.

At this time there are extra mags for purchase with the gun, I dont know pricing yet on the mags future assx will include different forearms, mag clamps, a3 stocks etc...

let me rephrase: MP-5 copy that you can throw a bunch of "tacticool" shit on. At least that's what I've gathered.

I'm just kinda curious on how the fuck that's coming into the country. Are they being made here?

I'm not sure but I think the governments definition of assault rifle includes the term center fire.....

It's probably the closest I'll ever get to a HK94, and it will be cheap as shit to play with.

Apparently there was some 8 month process involved in BATF approving the importation.
But yeah, final assembly is probably in the states like the Sig556.

Yeah I wouldnt doubt the ATF did a review of the item, but like Wild Stallion said, there's a clause stating rimfire guns are exempt from the whole "unless it's for sporting purposes, it aint coming into the country" ban.

I want to play with a real MP-5. Supposedly, one of the guys I race with has a ranch down south and sells high end optics for fire arms...and goes hog hunting on the ranch with a couple MP-5's...??? He has invited me down before but just haven't been able to make it happen with my crazy schedule.

I would be all over this thing just for the looks but the .22lr doesn't give me enough wood to spend $500.... :o

That sounds like a completely inefficient strategy, ha.

My grandfather and grandmother have some video from them shooting an MP-5 at a shooting class. It was pretty cool to see, especially seeing my grandma shooting a gun :D

A tax stamp will fix that supressor right up. Do it.

I might have to jump on one of these...I love shooting a .22lr. Would be cool to get a dpms .22lr Car-15 to go along with it :D

That's about right for a transferrable MP5 variant.

how did they manage to only squeeze 24 rounds into that magazine? i wonder how many aftermarket mags will hold.

looks cool. 22 will be nice and cheap to shoot and have fun with with but i would want a bigger caliber (but of course that would drive the price right past an AR).

you can sniff at a suppressed .22 all you want, but they have better terminal ballistics than a suppressed 9mm. They're actually approaching hushed .45 territory.

The 10/22 I was referring to had a stainless barrel, folding stock, and some kind of optics. I'll bet it's fun, but there are other things I'd be buying first.
