I'm going to be trading a digital camera for a shotgun straight up. I've never bought or traded for a gun before. Are there any documents I need to make sure and get or anything like that?

Face to face sale... there's nothing required by law, but I would get a signed receipt/bill of sale just to cover your ass.

Do I need to worry about anything for a serial number or something like that?

I would note it on the bill of sale. Manufacturer, model, S/N, date, names of both parties, etc.

I'd probably add TX DL# as well.

Hey fellas I appreciate it. I'll be picking up a Mossberg Maverick with an 18inch barrel rather then the 28inch barrel.

I think it's kinda like a generic like brand. You know how Gibson owns Epiphone, well Mossberg owns Maverick. I don't think there's much of a difference at all, except something about the safety. The Maverick may not have one. I was asking $125 for the camera but I priced it just a little low so it would sell. It's practically brand new and with everything I included I probably could have sold for around $175-200 if i had put it on ebay. But I don't like messing with ebay unless it's a huge item. I'll post some pics when I get it.

The mossberg has dual slide bars on the action. I think the maverick only has one.

So does that mean it's easier/harder to cock or easier/harder to pull the trigger?

It makes the actiion more reliable. In theory the single might bend the bar or
kinda jam sideways. At least that's what I've been told.

This is what I always use and no one ever has a problem with it. It may be a little much but, it covers everything.
