I was cleaning up my Glock last night when I noticed the rear sight had started to rust. it is the only thing that has rusted. It doesn't look like surface rust as it has started to pit a little. Anyone know what the warranty is for them?

No idea what the warranty is (sorry) but if you do call up there see how much it cost to get some factory Glock sights from them. I heard if you ship them your slide they can install some Trijicon's for like like $70 or something like that. This would be for my Glock 27.

In case anyone is wondering. They seem to have good customer service. I called up their support line and the guy said just to send in the slide with the sights. They will fix it and ship it back. I saw that it was delivered late Friday so I'm going to give them a call tomorrow morning.

Do a search over on GlockTalk.com (http://glocktalk.com/forums/) and see if anyone else has had a similar problem. Weird that it's happening again this soon.

I agree it is a weird problem. I called the customer support line to discuss my options. The CSR was really nice about everything, but couldn't really help so he transferred me to a manager. I am waiting on a call back. I'm going to see if maybe they can offer me something better or refund my money.

A buddy actually suggested sending the slide back again and just ask for them to replace the sights with a set of Glock sights. This way they know I'm not trying to screw them around. I didn't know it until today, but the Glock night sights are a polymer composite instead of metal. I would much rather give them a shot at this point.

I have Trijicon night sites on my G27 and no rust whatsoever. Not sure what's happening to your's, but it sounds like at least they're providing some good customer service.

My only issue is that they're fading. I've had them on since 1996 and now I can't really see any illumination at all. 12 years isn't too bad but I expected them to last longer.

Just thought I would update everyone. I called yesterday and left a message for one of the managers to call me. Bill (didn't catch his last name) is a CSR manager and returned my call within 24 hours of leaving a message. He assured me that they are going to fix it and even offered to pay for shipping since this is the 2nd time in 12 months the sights have rusted. He is going to try to have it fixed and back to me in less than two weeks. The engineering dept. is going to check out the sights and hopefully they can determine a cause for the rust. He did tell me that they use iron to make the sights and it appears that the coating is not holding up. He wants me also include info such as the cleaners and oil I use as well as the conditions the gun is subjected to. He guarantees that they will get to the bottom of this problem at no expense to me other than being without my Glock for a little while.

I definitely say their service is top notch. Within minutes of talking to Bill, a CSR called back with the shipping info and asked that the slide be ready to be picked up on Monday!
