looking around at Lowes,HD and Sears. Sears seems to have best Dollars:Value wise.

it would be used about once a month, and folding on would be nice.

I've used a Craftsman similar to this one and it worked great on 4x8 sheets of bead board.

Sorry but I wouldn't touch a bench top saw with a 10' 2x4. Especially a Sears Benchtop.

I would consider a Sears Hybrid saw (contractor/cabinet hybrid)

Home Depot has the Ridgid Contractor saw. This saw has consistently been highly reviewed. I've got one sitting in my garage right now. The saw has the Herculift caster system that makes it extremely easy to move the saw around your shop. The legs are solid and the saw is well balanced. Most contractor saws need a link belt to reduce vibration. My Ridgid didn't need that and several people on the Ridgid forums have stated the same thing. Even the reviews have mentioned how much they like it....

Contractor saws are the low end of table saws. They normally have more vibration because the motor is attached directly to the blade. Also, there is a higher chance of damaging the saw because its direct drive. Bench top saws normally have less powerful motors as well. I've even run into a few that couldn't handle a sheet of oak plywood. Most contractor saws have no problems with that. My Ridgid table saw slices through 3/4 4x8 sheet of oak plywood like is butter.
