Found a OD Green XD9 SC for a price I liked
Friend of mine picked up a AR-180, bought it for eight and some change, and had a guy offer him a grand as he was walking out.
Hell probably bring it back to the next gun show and try to get 1200ish for it...
(Related to another thread, I didnt see any Walther PPS' out there!)

I saw about 6 Dan Wesson .357 Magnum revolvers, from 4" to 8" or maybe 10" barrels, all blued, but they all had the light shrouds. I've already got a Dan Wesson .357 Magnum and was looking for either a .22LR or .32 H&R Magnum.
I did see about 5 10mm Glocks (could've been more, but I was focusing on the subcompact ones and only noticed 3). I got one. :o

I picked up a ruger 10/22 with a Green mountain fluted barrel, a volquartsen trigger assembly and a hogue stock for $362 tax included. (about $700 worth of parts brand new) Also bought a RRA stripped lower for $140.

What kind of special paperwork or taxes are involved with purchasing one?

Fill out 2 Form 4s(application to register a firearm, supressor, DD, in your name), attach 2 passport photos, and have a Chief Law Enforcement Official sign the back of the Form 4s. Include 2 FBI fingerprint cards and a $200 check for the tax. Wait 3-6 weeks.
If you cant get the CLEO signoff, you can create a trust and purchase the items through the trust. NO CLEO signoff, no passport photos, no fingerprints to be done.

So do you just have extra passport photos and fingerprint cards ready? If I don't know a CLEO, is it usually pretty hard to get one to sign? I have never tried to buy a can before, but have been thinking about it lately and had no idea what was involved. I had heard before that I had to obtain a class 3 license to be allowed to purchase anything like that. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, I just call the NFA branch and have them ship me a bunch of fingerprint cards. When I buy something, I go and spend $10 on fingerprints and $10 for passport photos at Walgreens.
Getting a CLEO signature is rather easy for me since my father is an attorney and Im face to face with Judges, Sheriffs etc. on a daily basis.
Best way to go about getting the signature is just to call whatever the department is and ask to set up an appointment to speak with the official regarding some BATFE paperwork. If he signs good, if not. Then you can try another official or go the trust route. If you live in Dallas, you're pretty much stuck with the trust route.
One only needs a "Class 3" license(silencers, machine guns, short barreled rifles etc.) if they plan on actually dealing in the sales of the items, not for purchase.

I went, looking for nothing in particular, but wanted something different. I ended up getting a Cobra P45 Patriot. Not a bad little gun. It's light, compact and cheap. Feels great in my hand, but I'll find out how it shoots @ lunch today. It uses 1911 mags as well.
