Is there a site that gives you a rough estimate of calories burned doing X for X amount of time?
Also I think i read before that every 3500 calories extra or minus is a pound gained or lost?

very true
there are plenty of web sites that give what you are looking for, just google it.
as far as your second question 3500 calories is a lb. If you take in 3500 calories more than what you burn, you gain a pound, if you burn 3500 calories more than what you take in, you lose a lb.

Your body burns calories at about 20% effeciency. Just use basic work formulas to determine how much you burn and multiply by 5. (simple physics)
