I bought a new flat-surface cooktop to replace my bad one. When they installed the original, they siliconed it down to the granite. Let me know if you can help.

My apologies if this is in the wrong forum, and could a mod please move it? Thanks

Is it the same size? If it is, just cut the breaker off, get a sharp knife/cutter and score the silicone then pry it up. It may be like my old Jenn Air stove (drop in type) that was hard wired, but either way, it is eaither a plug or the wires will be long enough to at least lift it up and get to them.

Can you get to the underside of it? If so, after scoring the silicone, push up on it.

I can't get under ir...my oven is under it. I have shattered the top in several places, and it still isn't happening.

The installers almost certainly used under bolts or sink style clips to install it then. You are going to have to simply pull the stove out (it's really not that hard to do) and remove it from below.

Where are you located? If you're close I'll give you a hand.

There are most likely retaining screws somewhere under the trim.
