View Full Version : Offering *FREE* Bellydance Cardio Class in Arlington Ballpark Area

Obviously, this is not Nick. But I can't log the bastard out.

Anyhoo.

Motivation Fitness Studios (Off Brown and Ballpark) is offering a FREE Bellydance Cardio class this Monday at 7 pm. I'm trying to gauge interest in this type of workout format and develop a more comprehensive training syllabus, so this is not something I will be charging for. You will be doing ME a favor here. :D

This will cover Cabaret/Tribal Fusion basics with a focus on getting your heart rate up and breaking a sweat in a FUN way. This is NOT a full on Bellydance class. No special equipment required, besides clothes you feel comfortable moving around in and a bottle of water. I'm even bringing a collection of shimmy scarves (The kind that jingle all pretty like) for your dancing please.

I started with Isis 3 years ago. My mom is still there. I left to take lessons with Heather of Liquid Hips fame, and am also taking with Brandi from BellaNatana. I might know your wifey, if not, I'm sure my mom does!

She may find the classes a bit TOO basic, if she's easily bored. I'm really catering to people with no dance experience, and then working them up into more advanced stuff. Later classes may be a bit better for her, as I'm going to integrate more Tribal moves with a focus on strengthening/muscle control, as opposed to Cabaret's more skeletal movements.

But I would LOVE to have an experienced dancer's feedback. :) I'm making my mom come too, because she remembers more accurately what it was like to be a newb. Since I had a dance background, I found the first couple of months WAY too easy.

OH GEEZ! Everyone there (With the exception of me and my mom) have zero dance skills. Quite frankly, they don't have a lot of rhythm either. ;)

And we have some 'Pleasantly plump' ladies. She doesn't have to flash her belly or anything. Just a t-shirt and some workout pants.

C'mon, it's FREE. If you hate it you can leave in the middle of the class and
never come back. :p

We've decided to keep the classes ongoing until further notice. Pay is on a sliding scale (For the moment), and first class is still free.

We will be having a class next Monday (12/03), but I will be out 12/10, back on for the 17th, and probably not Christmas eve.

Front row is always available, as long as you participate. :)
