So who here grunts a bit during workout?

Scientists to study grunting during workout (http://news.yahoo.com/s/hsn/20071024/hl_hsn/expertssoundoffonworkoutgrunting)

I'm not an advocate of the people that grunt every time they move weight (e.g. guy curling 30s grunting after each rep), but I do think towards the end of a set sometime a grunt is needed to get that last rep up/out/down/etc.

What are people's opinions?

LOL, I just read that on Yahoo too.

I don't grunt, at least I don't think I do, but maybe likek you said, at the end of the set or final 1 or 2 reps maybe a little, but not loud like the dude who got kicked out of the club.

What's next, if you sweat too much, they won't let you work out. I mean, come on, it's the way he works out, like some people snore, some do not. Who cares, go about your workout, turn your MP3 player up a notch.

I'm quiet until the intensity picks up. I don't usually make noise during the higher rep sets, but failing at 6-8 will get me grunting a little.

I'll make a little noise sometimes with a heavy rep. If some wannabee bodybuilder wants to laugh then fuck him.

I do when I am trying to wrap out the end of a deep drop set doing legs (press and extensions especially). I have no idea why, either. It just happens.

just imo if you are grunting you lose air, tightness, and your "belly".

Like you're suppose to at the end of your lift.

what kind of lifting are we talking here? For a max, from unrack to rack command you should never lose tightness.
