Anyone see this on the ticker? A special announcement from Dana White.... wonder what it is? Could it be in relation to this friction over Couture? Anyone?

Wanderlei Silva is fighting Liddell.... funny how Liddel vs. Jardine determined who the champion was, and then Wanderlei doesn't fight Jardine... I'm assuming this is because Dana needs the hype since this last bit of bad news over Couture. Also of course because it would be Wanderlei's debut fight... really makes me wonder if that Jardine fight was legit or not... as much as I hate conspiracy theories it does sit in the far back corner of my mind.

As I understand it, Dana was unwilling to allow Fedor to fight in the upcoming Sambo tournament, and because of that Fedor refused the contract.. or something along those lines. Couture, who wanted to fight Fedor used this as the catalyst to exit the UFC along the lines of insufficient salary and that fight not happening...

Anyone care to clarify all the UFC drama for me?

Geez, if Couture vs. Emelianenko happened... it would probably be the biggest fight ever.

randy is having a live press conference on Mark Cuban's channel HDNET, on thursday at 3:30 pm. it should be pretty interesting.

here is the special announcement.
the December event is looking good. If I weren't going to Costa Rica in January, I would be at this show for sure.. who knows, if i hit some bonuses at work I might be able to do both. haha

Obviously he is going to sign with Mark Cuban's new league...

However, it might be after he finishes his UFC contract.

What, exactly, are you trying to argue that the UFC is conspiring against?

Wanderlei has already said he wouldn't make his first fight a title fight. That leaves a pretty boring debut if Liddell beat Jardine... everyone wanted the Liddell vs. Wanderlei card... which wouldn't have happened. Now, since Liddell conveniently lost, we get that fight.

I'm not saying they are conspiring at all, I'm just saying this turn of events would be in the UFC's best interests.

You do realize that Liddell wasn't the champion when he fought Jardine right ? He lost the title to Rampage several months back.

Yes, I realize that. After the Jardine fight I would figure he would be the number one contender again for the title.
