Why is it that the owner of the track will always put her hand out and take our money but when its time to put up her own money...she quickly turns her pockets inside out?

A couple of observations...track safety. We have had several high profile racers namely, kenjo, grant, and wolfe crash at high speeds within the past few weeks, thankfully no injuries. The bumps at the end of the track were to blame. Have they fixed the bumps yet? HELL NO. Ive spoken with several of the drivers and they have said until they repair the track, they simply arent coming. Its just too much time and money to simply risk a left turn into the rail at the top end.

NEXT...it pisses me off that we cant learn from joe golden in houston. Move the races to SAT. put up a couple grand more and amazingly enough RACERS WILL COME to fill a field of 16 (look at houston this weekend over 90 cars for 10.5!) By the time you figure up expenses its not worth the trip from anywhere outside of 100 miles.

I love that Kennedale is so close, sure beats the drive to denton/redline, and that we have some of the best racers around...but its time to support them, not the other way around.

AM I WRONG?

First, you are not wrong for having the safety concerns. But you need to realize that Texas Raceway is a business. And there business has a season and any repairs would and should be made during the off season.

Second, as far as the schedule I know that most of the track owners in Texas all talk about their schedules so as there are few if any conflicting events. Now if one track has a better schedule that is simply the owners ability to negotiate with the other owners.

Denton should be the place to be next year. I have heard there will be alot of events there in 08. Its really not that far of a drive. Hell I just got back from a 6hour drive from Baytown.

That is exactly correct, every business has a "season" and just so happens to be this is in middle of the busiest part of the season. I have heard rumors of major changes to come at TXR in the off season - so be careful about passing judgemnt on someone before you've even contacted them to voice your opinion.

I am sure Cindi is in the business to make money, no doubt - but it takes a LOT of money to run an operation such as TXR. There are a LOT of costs that we, the racers, don't see. Also, I do believe there is a major rule change regarding guardrails that is coming down from NHRA in '09. Not sure on the truth of it though.

As far as the schedule is concerned, TXR runs a bracket program on Saturdays. That is the reason the 10.5 stuff is never run on the weekends.

I understand that TXR is a business, but at what cost do they neglect the track and risk injury to someone, or even death. When you know something is UNSAFE YOU SHOULD SHUT DOWN AND FIX THE PROBLEM! no matter what the cost may be. ITS LIKE FORD AND THE PINTO ALL OVER AGAIN! (thats a stretch, i know.) :)

Nevermind the fact they have 2500+ hp and are running on 10.5's??

(the slower cars never seem to have a problem)

I heard a rumor that two certain brothers that frequently win at the track may buy it .

The last KOTH I was there I wasn't real impressed with the prep. Yeah, some cars were putting up numbers, but they were ALL OVER the track.
