this may be a bit of a long shot, but here it goes...

Ok, I am looking for a Motorcycle shop that will take in cars as trade. I am trying to get out of a high car payment, and at the same time get a bike. If anyone knows of a couple of places that will do this, please let me know. Thanks.

by the way, the car I'm trying to trade is a 2002 corvette, if that makes any difference.

Why not just sell the vette? You'll get more than any trade in value.

Sale your car outright and get a bike.

I would say to try and sail it first. ;)

Bingo. Granted, I'm not too upside down, but still.

I also listed it on eBay last week, and only had a few people bid on it, with it ending far far from the reserve I had set. ....which still kind of amazes me, who honestly thinks they can get a 2002 corvette that's never been wrecked and is in good shape for $13k?

Anyway, back to the subject, does anyone of a couple of shops that trade for cars??

Not sure about this, but there's a shop on Alta Mere in west Fort Worth in between Cycle Gear and Yamaha/Suzuki West that trades in used bikes and cars.
Ultimate Motor Cars maybe? They've generally got a selection of used bikes out front.

man i would be all over an 02 vette for $13k if i could find one that you described. hell it should be worth at least $20k i would think. good luck man!

depending on the options and miles, i would say that's on the low end, yes.

The miles are the only thing that hurts it. It has 92k miles on it (which actually only equals about 15k per year), but you can't tell it has that many by looking at it.

I didn't think I was asking too much for it either (I had a reserve set at $23K) and even that is a little negotiable, but apparently that's way too much. I just figured being Mill. Yellow, having '07 z06 wheels, borla exhaust, and a sub and amp in it would help it bring close to that.

I'll have to check out that Ultimate Motor place. Any other shops around besides that one?

What's the bottom line amount you'll take?

Granted it's an 01, but it is a Z06 with 30% fewer miles and it went for less than your reserve.

How thorough was your auction? Number of pics/quality of pics, description, service records, carfax, user feedback, competitors (meaning similar cars with lower reserves, buy it now amounts, more desireable etc.) running auctions at the same time etc. There are a lot of factors that come into play when selling a car on eBay and it will generally take a few auctions to get what you want if you have a high reserve.

know what's a REALLY bad idea?

that would be rolling negative equity into something that depreciates like CRAZY... IE, a bike.

unless your interest rate is JACKED (which it could likely be) the vette isn't going to depreciate nearly as bad as a new bike

eh, you make a good point. My credit isn't bad for my age I don't think ( I'm 23, and I have a 725 beacon), so my rate isn't horrible. I'm just trying to see what all of my options are, and their outcomes.

I know why your ebay auction didn't do so well...you have bad taste. You may want a Corvette looking like this, but no one else does.

This doesn't help either...

NOTE ----- I am still making monthly payments on this vehicle, it is not paid for. Understand that once I receive the money for the vehicle, I will then mail the payment in full to the finance company in order to have the title mailed to me. Once I get the title, I will sign off on it and make arrangements to get it to you. I can have a contract written (and notarized if you feel the need) to ensure both parties' agreement until the actual title is transferred. -----

Are those stripes vinyl or paint? If they are vinyl, peel them off ASAP. Get rid of that yellow shit in the interior. Doing those two things will probably help quite a bit.

God almighty, please get that interior back to normal and get those stripes off asap!!

When I read millenium yellow with 07 Z06 wheels I thought I might want to take a look at it. Good luck with the sale. hope you're able to find a buyer.

Everything was on the car when I bought it, I didn't do any of that. The stripes are paint, not stickers. I've actually gotten nothing but compliments from everyone who's seen it. Everyone has different taste.

Thanks for bashing my car, that's exactly what I asked for. It's not like I simply asked where to find some bike shops or anything.

So it's an '02 coupe, with an automatic, 92k miles, and you set a reserve at $23k?!? I don't think, even with "fixing" the interior to look like stock again, and marketing the hell out of the car, that you could get more than $16-17k. There's a whole lot of Z06's out there with less miles you can get for $23k! Just letting you know! What do you owe on it?

Really? :) I meant sportbike/cruiser, not brand. But yeah, you are correct, we carry honda/suzuki/yamaha/kawasaki as well as polaris and seadoo. we also have a couple ducatis and triumphs used.
