it seems to me that i can never really shake the feeling that sometimes im not using the proper lifting form. and that would reduce gains by a lot depending on how far off the form you were. any suggestions?

No, because I use proper form. Incorrect form would more likely cause injury than decrease gains at a given weight.

Why lift with proper form when you can lift shitty and do more weight?

no i am relatively sure that i am. i have been lifting for well over a year but its just sort of a nag in the back of my head that i get every once in a while. just wondering if anyone else ever got it. no injuries for me either.

A little over a year to most of us is still a n00b (i've been at it for about 11yrs straight). haha. I don't want to discourage you by any means however. So keep on going with it.

guess i should have clarified more. lil longer than 5 years as a grand total.
and while i wont be a complete ******** like the other guy (which is part of what gives body builders a bad name, due to such an attitude being the most common side effect of you know whats) i would pose this question. can you squat 500 lbs? im just asking. i have a much more body muscle than most people. just as many of you on this forum likely do. it is because of this that i go out of my way not to be total prick to people, like that. i bet you already know why. they would simply dismiss (and probly most will anyway due to plain old jealousy) all my hard work as "easy gains" made by a chemical. just soemthing to think about before the next time you decide to tell someone to "STFU!" or whatever it was.

i dont squat because of a back injury.. but the last time i did squats was at 245.. and i was doing 600lbs for sets of 6-8..
although i dont do them any more.. my legs are not 4" bigger and alot stronger relative to back then.. so honestly.. your 500lbs squat challenge is bullshit. because unless you are 160lbs.. squatting 500lbs is nothing impressive.. and since you are talking about all your muscle mass.. and becnhing 500 for reps is easy.. how much do YOU bench?
oh yeah.. im 100% natural. and till you can out bench me.. you have NO place scoffing at my bench.. show many how many 100% natural lifters can rep 505x5 on the bench. i know YOUR bitch ass cant squat it.. never mind bench it.. so you can shove your jelousy up your pompous retarded ass.
and as for " going out of the way to be a prick".. YOU where the one comming on my thread talking shit about my friends and my bench.. which if you look at the grand scheme of things puts is in the top echelon for natural lifters....so if you think im being a prick or an " ******" .. blow it out your ass.
I benched 275 yesterday ONE TIME & with a little help :D
On a good note I have been benching 225 on my own with no spot for 10 reps on each set.
gonna try & do 250 today & get 4 reps in. THE CHALK HELPS ;)

thats pretty good..
what i have found is if you know the weight you can do for 10 reps.. where rep 10 is pretty much the last rep you can do 100% by yourself.. that is about 75% of your ORM. obviously there are slight variances owing to how some ppl bench form wise and muscle structure. Some ppl are built to rep.. others have an easier time with high weight, low reps.

Who gives a fuck about squatting 500lbs (besides you). And no I can't. I have been focusing on speed and Physique...not a number. I have no desire to even look at a squat max. And I never said STFU...it's pretty easy to just scroll up to see what I actually entered.
Just so you know for future reference...there's a huge difference between 1 year and 5 years. And the same difference between 5 consecutive years and 5 cumulative years.

I would be more worried about what you can do to your joints and tendons with improper form.

Its ok to cheat slightly on your last couple reps.
Its ok to cheat slightly on your last couple reps.
As long as you don't mind getting injured on your last couple of reps.
If you always use good form you will find that you will have fewer injuries and that your strength will actually go up as you get used to the form. Proper form is there for a reason.

Arnold always said " body english " is not bad because it gets the weight up and for heavy weight thats all you need to do. Dont let it get out of control though.
Last time I cycled ( 8-9 months ago ) 405 bench X 2. Im happy with that now I have to get back up there.

Agreed. I used to just struggle and fight to pull thru a last rep... now, if I can't maintain proper form, then it's a failure rep. Push as far as you can go without killing yourself physically.
The last couple of reps are the ones that make the muscle re-grow. However, doing them wrong puts strain on joints, ligs & tendons. A good spotter is necessary for big time lifts to failure: a good spotter keeps you in form as well as keeps the weight from crushing your ass when you fail.

W/L I weigh 235ish give or take depends if I have taken a shit yet. When I was cycleing I was also on HGH and I was about 220-225ish. My natural weight is 185 if I stopped working out and did more cardio.
