Internet connection??

Why could it be that after my computer sits idle for a while, I have to restart it to get my internet connection back. It will do this if it has been sitting for approx. a half hour. It also does this sometimes if I play an online game, and then try to open IE or Firefox. On top of that, Firefox works about 10% of the time now.

It's been going on for a while. I have AVG free... uhhh and I had to replace the ethernet card because at my last apartment when TimeWarner came out to install the phone/modem somehow my ethernet card took a shit at exactly the same time.

I know I have some other firewall deal, but the kid who built the computer put it on there. I will look later.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
in command line will probably reset the connection without you having to restart, but it will still suck to have to do that everytime

file, start, accessories, command prompt, 'ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew' is what i think he's telling you to do.
