Testing out these M/T. I gotta say at first I was not happy, but I guess they had to "break in". Took them down to 12psi.

Lol, I said nice ride.....lol. :p
Just takes practice man. Just take peoples advise & don't take the shit talking personal. Take a critique like it should be taken and learn from your mistakes.
You did a good burnout. Maybe leave a lil more tire pressure in the tires, start @ like 18psi and go down from there. Experiment on what rpm your car/tires/suspension can transfer the weight easier on the car & Don't! fall asleep @ the light. I guess learn to launch the car first, and WORK on that reaction time.

We got some some Fing idiots up in here. The car is all stock suspension street car. It's not easy to launch a damn 2valve with a huge blower on drag radials. He wasn't even driving the car until the last pass in the vid. Grow up. Im thinking a 7.3 out of a heavy hazz 2v on drag radials is some pretty decent driving.

530rwhp It has some 6sec passes in it. I've done so with almost 100hp less. & yes a blower car & on 17 drag radials too. I said nice car, but you can tell whoever was driving wasn't doing a great job.
Let me guess....you're bitching because I bet it was you driving!

If you could get a little better weight transfer it might help; looks like from the videos it isn't transferring much. Still, nice runs :)

It's time to make a few more decisions for the car on what purpose you have in mind for it. As I see it, it's tough to have a great drag car and not sacrifice something from it's road suspension.
http://www.dragstuff.com/techarticles/video-suspension.html
"I have found through slow motion video tape that if the rear shocks are too loose the rear tire actually bounces on the initial hit and will break loose almost right away. I stood next to the car pointing the camera right at the rear tire. It was amazing to watch. I kept on tightening the rear shocks until it stopped which was just below mid point of the adjustment. From all that I have seen the rear shocks should never be adjusted less that half way because of rear squat and tire bounce."

I drive it everyday, and not yet ready to make a race car out of it yet. :D I only go to the track every-once-in-a-while. I want to at least go 7 teens with the set up I have.
Good article though!

I thought it ran great. I saw the slicks but didnt know what was done to it. < More impressed to find out it was mostly stock  Still surprised the shit out of me when it left the line.
Duncan looks like them Bad Boys HOOK. :D
How many burnouts did you do before you felt the tires hooking? It looks like from your last run you have to smoke the tires pretty good to get them to hook. Also what pressure where you running?

It took a three runs before they started to hook (the very first time I heated them for about 15-20 seconds but still ran a 1.94 60). I started out at 16psi then a buddy of mine took them to 12psi when I wasnt looking. Reviewing the video it looks like I could have left harder on the 7.3 run.....it looked like the front end still dipped then came back up. and that run I left at 4500rpm. Definetly the best drag radials I have tried thus far.
They are VERY soft. You can literally sink your thumb in these things. :D

duncan, you running a stock 8.8?
id probably run them at about 15-16psi at the track... especially if it is bogging. less air will make it bog even harder and take away from your top end.
id rev to about 5 grand and play a little with the clutch. dont fully dump but ride off hard.

dont worry it will get there. i think you have a few more tenths in it and a 6 sec pass. most of it is left in the 60ft but jyro is right... you will need suspension to really take advantage of it If that's what you want to do. personally i wouldnt go nuts on drag suspension on your street car.
but as far as the clutch, im not talking about riding it to the point of burning (ejones style) but like get the pedal almost to the point of engagement and let off fast but not instantly.
if you dump clutch, the moment your clutch smacks the flywheel at 5000 rpm it's going kill rpm and you will bog.

LOL! I will have to try what you suggested. I'd be happy with a 7.0-7.1 the way its set up now. I need more practice :D

106.5 came with my GI joe 8 rib kit. Worked great until awhile back one of his pulleys went out. So he sent me a new one and it was Bigger. Well the 106.5 belt fit on it because it had been stretched out some.
Well now trying to get a brand new belt to fit with the bigger idler pulley does not work. I need a belt that is an inch bigger I think.

Oh ok, you must have a bigger crank than i do (mines still stock) I dont have the 8 rib kit. An inch may prove to be difficult even taking off the alt pulley, may take a couple of people but Id still try it before I spent another $50 belt.
