my convertor is a nitrous convertor.... my car is tuned for motor until next week. about 29 degrees of timing... likely going to knock it down to 23/24 or so for the big shot.... has a standalone sitting in it right now. waiting on more nitrous parts to arrive.

driveshaft is fully balanced and ready to go...
took the car to 110 on cooper in front of the shop to test it out! Took a split second to hit 100 from 10miles per hour... this car is a BEAST! :eek: :eek: :eek:
and that was just on motor... It is faster on motor than it used to be on the 125 shot/H/C/I/E setup!

last week I raced Jeremy's 414ci RPM built dyno queen car (550rwhp/510rwtq) up to the 3rd gear shift on my A3...... driveshaft was vibrating to put the peddle down in 3rd... so we raced to about 85/90mph until I let up... it was door to door from a 30 roll.....
yet he was starting in 2nd on an M6 and I was shortshifting without a shiftlight. So we will see what it do this weekend.
I plan to pull it to 120 or so.

Running it from a roll is a whole different story. Your car needs to run 140-150mph in the 1/4 to mess with it on the highway

Running it from a roll is a whole different story. Your car needs to run 140-150mph in the 1/4 to mess with it on the highway
should do 125ish on motor..... heck.. I did that with the 6 speed and 490rwhp with a 1.7 60ft....
on the 300 shot I am sure it will pick up 15mph or so?

What's yours weigh? You'll probably beat me.
With me in it? Probably close to what that GTO weighs. LOL. I don't know for sure, but Fox's generally weigh around 3300, I'm 250. Pretty heavy. Gives you a 550lb advantage.

That's cool, I've seen some out at Denton that say they out hp me, but they were in the mid 9's, some even 10's. But, I know FWD+HP= useless 1/8th mile times.
As far as GTO's, that's why I sold mine so quick...they're nice cars, way too heavy, way too expensive, also kinda crazy the biggest tire stock, without a lot of massaging/work is like a 255/265. I saw '06 6.0's with more HP than me running a full second slower than my '02 TA....and that's slow.

dont need a shift lite...should have an electronic tranny if your not faster than a 6.0....and you have a stock tach you can use that....you did when you had a 6 speed...

Coudnt even get to my pills (jets) if I wanted to... the whole kit was hidden and the nozzle (where the jets/pills are located) was underneath the radiator ;) :rolleyes:

ran a 6.48 with only 200 out the hole / 300 up top on the hose... car is setup for 300....... also have a crap converter, and bottle pressure was less than 900!

I mean, come on, it is a daily driven 3400lb FWD four door, forged pistons being the only thing not completely stock in the engine. A drag car it is not. But no reason to crap on it just because it does not fit your description of a 'fast' car.

yeah you guys ran three wide. I was going to see if I could get a lane but ended running wayyyy past you guys on the on ramp. So I pulled next to the video T/A and see if he wanted to run. I was like well hell I'm too far up and he was going to hit it anyway...what the hell. After the race we slowed up did a u turn and went back west. I was behind the Red SHO on the race heading west.
I believe it was the night the slownbmta said his motor was cutting out do to electrical/ignition issue. Not sure.
If I did cut anyone off.....I do apologize. It was unintentional and both hands were on the steering wheel not fekin around.

And I never said it was fast, just showed it to prove to the guy I wasn't in my garage. I was a bit slower than a C6Z06 at that time, but that was a long time ago. New fuel system, new laptop tuner, bigger turbo that lets me make power to 7300 (vs the little T3/4, which peaked too soon and choked off after 6000). If you can not even beat Tony, you have no room to talk dude.

Like I said... I thought I was on a 200 shot not the 300..... the car ran fine with 26 degrees of timing and the 300 shot at the track on the 116 octane in the dedicated.
I had 109 in the tank and the car was down 100 worth of nitrous. That wasnt the case. I checked the same plugs after the day at the track and they looked good.
I did ask for cooler plugs, call it a mistake on me for putting bad gas in the car.
I hope everything is fine. :crossesfingers:
BTW, it is a fact that these heads and an iron block can take more timing..... NA. Now on the sauce.. that is a different story I guess now. :(
As far as advise, only Hutto said I had the wrong plugs. He also never told me what plugs to put in the car. No one else made a single comment. Other than the fact that I needed a bottle heater and a new bottle gauge. :o

Timing is a function of bore, combustion chamber dynamics (specific to YOU since nobody else has a set of heads ported the way yours are) fuel octane, air temp, amount of nitrous ingested, air/fuel ratio, coolant temperature, and a few other things. Everybody's motor likes different amounts of timing and the only way to find out is to see what your motor likes.

and that is just it.... it was good on the 116 with 26 degrees...... I can only assume that the 109 w/ 26 degrees and hitting it over and over allowing the plug to become a torch is what caused the problem...... I would of known better if I thought the car had 300 pills in it..... but I didnt. It didnt feel like it was on the big hit.... it must of been hurt by that point :(

but you are right...... car wasnt made to supra style race..... it is has solids to go from a dig..... I just wanted to run someone.... couldnt go to the track enough due to lack of a babysitter for the kiddos.

Why would you have words with who built. He cant talk to himself. That shop is a labor shop. Just like RPM that you swing from. An engine builder with a good reputation on building motors that make more then mediocre power would have been a wise choice. Not dictating what you learned on the internet and hope it lasts.
The tune blew that bitch up. Hope its only a valve. Yes im a dick. I get numerous calls from Mike asking what he should do. Yes I told him not to run TR6's in that car period. Yes, Ive told him many other things and not to cut corners. There is no perfect plug for a car that I can not put my hands on. Had you taken Marsh and I up on the offer for the motor and nitrous tune up, a lot of shit would have been fixed and brought to safety. Just because you read so much information on the net, doesn't make you know it all. Stop acting like it and sit back and actually listen to folks who have a grasp on this stuff and you would be in a far better situation then you are in now.
That same $15G that you guys speak of would have built a nasty solid roller 408. I know where one is at that will be coming to the street scene of DFW soon.

A stock LS1 will take up to 36 degrees of timing if you give it the fuel map it wants. Unfortunately theres not a tuner in the metroplex that will do it because its out of their safety zone and customers generally run blow torches for spark plugs.

The only thing that I know seriously impacts timing is compression, EGT's and IAT's........ so the only thing that would allow you to run more timing is a cooler chamber or less compression? I can see a stock car with 10:1 compression hitting 36+ degrees with a cold plug ..... but if you bump the compression to 12:1.... i dont see it being as plausable? Isnt that why you can throw more timing at an iron block vs alum. it dissapates more heat? Well...... If I am wrong then I will stop reading the internet all together for tech info and get my advice from the "big dogs".

I figured the nitrous pill was larger........
I understand the fuel pill is bigger than on a 40psi setup.....
That was my problem when I dyno'd at gearheads... had the low psi pills in the car. whooops. :eek:

I had it on high but I had a regular fuel injected TNT wet kit. With the carb style plate I would run it on low pressure. And Justins right, all it takes is a spring change in the regulater ;)

A 13.5 to 1 LS1 can still see the same timing....with a slower burning fuel. It wasnt meant to be on pump gas at any rate if its 13.5:1 or not. I would answer the rest of the questions, but im tired of talking to a wall.

He's not grasping the old nitrous trick we use to do either....When you spike pressure of nitrous through the same orfice its leaner. Something about volume of nitrous released. Nitrous contains oxygen. It goes leaner with this concept. You force more fuel via pressure through the same orfice you supply more volume of fuel then the nitrous pill is allowing through at a constant, steady pressure. THe fuel pressure is constant, the N2O pressure is fairly constant so the result is a fat condition or a chubby. Kinda like you. jk ;) Once again, this all reverts back to something that could have been easily fixed when I told you Id do a nitrous tune up on the car.
