friend of mine rents out a rehersal room... we play wii sports all the time on a 156 inch screen.. fun for hours!!! i bought madden 08 for the 360 and sold it back ( i dont know just wasn't fun) ... Metroid needs more enemies but overall i like the game... Guess you've never played zelda or resident evile 4 (both games are bad ass)

yeah i played resident evil 4 for ps2 it was sick as hell- and the newest zelda i played on the gamecube... i guess the interaction with the wii just isnt for some people- id rather move a thumb stick to aim at things

Check out gamestop, they have pics... each console is a little different, and the wired and wireless ones are a little different.

My friend has a Wii and has already reserved one, I just wish they had a wireless one for the PC at release :mad:

the wireless guitar on ps2 has an attachment you have to plug into the controller port though.

The PS2 guiter has an adapter for the PS3, but the "Star Power" is only usable by hitting the select button, you can't tilt the guitar at all. I hope the wireless one for the PS3 fixes that.

One of my buddies picked it up today, and we beat it on the easy difficulty already. The last "venue" you end up on has some pretty difficult songs. Especially the one you get to play during the credits. Holy shit.

i just got mine yesterday and i love it.... i preordered from redoctane and got the extra strap,bag, and key chain.the only thing with my guitar is when i hit the red and green together then strum the yellow button with them. im dealing with it for now. Till i can go buy another and swap out the guitars and return it.

I picked it up on launch day, and I've just now made it through the 2nd set on Medium :-/ I hate being busy after work.

But I think I'm gonna get some quality time in tonight, g/f has some work function going on from 7 to 9.

I think I'm going to step up to Hard and maybe Expert this time though. Going through Medium to unlock all the songs though first. That Orange button just fucks with me. But the Blue one fucked with me for a while when I moved up from Easy to Medium on GH1, so I figure I just gotta do it and at some point it will click and become natural.

Try the lag calibration. You can get to it from either the main menu (Options > Video > Calibrate Lag (I think that's the path)), or when you start a song, pause it, and in the pause menu there's a Calibrate Lag option.

Don't start out on medium. I keep telling people, it doesn't make the jump to hard any easier and it only delays your progress. Start out on hard and stay there.

Btw, we beat it on career co-op Saturday night on Hard. The only song that we didn't beat on the first try was "One" by Metallica. Holy shit, I can't wait to see that song on expert.

Finished up Easy yesterday to get the achievement on guitarhero.com ... odd that there's one for easy, hard, and expert, but not for medium.

Going to get started on Hard next. I'm going back and forth between going back to gh1 and getting used to the damn orange button with it's slower pace and then moving on to gh2 to get use to 3 finger chords, before finally coming to gh3... or just going balls out and starting on gh3, maybe using practice mode to slow things down and gradually move up to full speed.

i went through it on medium first so that i could unlock all the songs... since in GH2 you had to do that to get all the co-op songs.. plus.. i didnt have 2 that long before 3 came out so im still a GH noob

Warning... do not buy this for PC unless you have a serious system, even then who knows. Playing WoW with the setting turned all the way up I was always at 30fps+ and my computer can't handle this game :confused:

It is completely unplayable, the notes will lag and then speed up anything that needs extra graphics like star power makes it even worse! I turned everything off and detail was set to low, I had it it running at 1220x768 instead of 1680x1050 and still wouldn't run right.

Not sure what red octane is thinking, because I would have never released this game the way it runs :mad:

I unfortunately traded my Wii version in for the PC version. I was lured by the promise of a wealth of custom songs from the people hacking the PS2 versions and the Frets on Fire crowd...

Less than a week later, I'm back on the Wii version. $60 lesson learned.

The minimum requirements for it are stupid high. I can only assume it's a quick and dirty 360 port, and not built from the ground up to be a PC game. I've got a 7600GT (which just eeks in the "supported" cards list) in my iMac and even after turning off the crowd, turning off physics, and setting graphic detail to low, 1280x720 ... it'd still stutter and hesitate if I dared do something as bold as activate star power, or god forbid more than one band member comes onto the screen Chords?! Fuck that! NO YUO!

The minimum requirements are higher than Gears of War. Or Bioshock. Or, you know... damn near every other game on the market. Shitty programming, plain and simple.

Guess I'll stick to Frets on Fire for my custom songs.

[edit]The sad thing is, on my HTPC where I initially tried it, I've got a Radeon 9600XT, and the game set up it's defaults to 1280x720, low graphic detail. And I turned off physics and the crowd.

On my iMac (Windows XP via Boot Camp), the game defaulted to 1920x1200, high detail.

So both of them running at 1280x720, low detail, no physics, and no crowd... got about the same performance on either system.

Just an all around shitty port. I don't think it really matters how good your system is, it's probably going to play like shit regardless.

yup its a fucking joke, from what I've read Aspyr just translated the Xbox version to PC without optimizing it what so ever... There is no reason that it should have been released the way it is.

I still haven't taken mine back, but Im worried that Best Buy won't even give me a refund since its opened! :mad:

best buy has a strict no-return-policy on software. including games. you better ebay it or craigslist it.

Fortunately I got mine from Fry's, they'll take anything back. I'm pretty sure Best Buy will have nothing of it now that it's been opened, unfortunately :(

Can't fucking do it on my Wii. 98% is the farthest I've made it, averaging around 80%.

well, that song isn't needed to complete career mode. what difficulty are you playing it on? i can squeak by on hard, but i won't even bother practicing for it on expert.

I'm on Medium, and thank all that's holy it's not required to beat career :D

I don't know how I got to 98% on it, and I damn near threw my guitar through my tv when it failed.

I hover around 79-82% The last few times I've tried, I've creeped up to 86-89%.

I still don't know how the hell I did it on my buddy's 360. I just saved star power for the insane solo that's all over the board, and rode the red/yellow rock meter on through to the end. That just doesn't appear to work on my Wii :(

I've even partially gotten the solo(s) down enough that I can make it almost completely through them before needing SP, but SP doesn't fill my meter back up, because it's as if activating it disables 2/3 of the notes I hit (ie: goes from mostly hearing the notes without SP, to just the occasional note during SP).

If I could just make it to Post Insanity III (I think that's what the section is called via practice mode, I know the first two are Post Insanity and Post Insanity II) with a half meter in the yellow, I could finish the song. My 98% run I went into that section on the fail line, and because I nail that part, it builds me up to the red/yellow line. Going into it with half yellow, should put me halfway into green and ready to skate the rest of the song.

That said, it's the only song on Medium that I can't breeze through. I need to 5 star Reining Blood, and One to complete Medium. TTFaF just mocks me.
