Listening to Animals right now and I'm always stuck on what the best Pink Floyd album is, Animals or Meddle.
What is YOUR favorite?

The Wall was where Pink Floyd took about 100 steps back in my book. There are only a few songs on there that I can even listen to. I put it up there as an option because, God knows why, some delusional people actually like it.

It's hard to pick an absolute favorite really. There is one album that I don't get tired of listening to, that hasn't been mentioned yet ... Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Wish you were here! Followed by Animals then Dark Side.
The Wall was so overhyped.

I pretty much feel that way about Pink Floyd in general. There are 3 or 4 songs on The Wall I like (excluding The self titled song, hate it), 2 or 3 on Dark Side and that is it. Not a Pink Floyd fan, kinda feel they are over-the-rated. <--- new term i'm going to coin.

Because it is their sell-out album and many people have heard another brick in the wall part 2, but yes that album is their worst. I voted Meddle as "Echoes" is their best song next to "That great gig in the sky." Oh "the dark side of the moon" is my second favorite but cannot stand "money and time" more sell-out songs.

Best line from Animals......."You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so that when they turn there back on you you can put the knife in."

I guess I'm dillusional too. :D I like it because it's like an emotional roller coaster ride to me and it brings out different feelings from my past. Especially "One of my Turns"
I finally got the chance to see the movie and I was disappointed. It's waaay too dark and depressing.
Day after day, love turns grey
Like the skin of a dying man.
Night after night, we pretend its all right
But I have grown older and
You have grown colder and
Nothing is very much fun any more.
And I can feel one of my turns coming on.
I feel cold as a razor blade,
Tight as a tourniquet,
Dry as a funeral drum.
Run to the bedroom,
In the suitcase on the left
You'll find my favorite axe.
Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase,
One of my bad days.
Would you like to watch T.V.?
Or get between the sheets?
Or contemplate the silent freeway?
Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly?
Would'ya?
Would you like to see me try?
Would you like to call the cops?
Do you think it's time I stopped?
Why are you running away?

LMAO at this thread, considering almost none of you were even born when "Dark Side of the Moon" came out. I respect your musical tastes' nonetheless. Not that it matters, but "Dark Side of the Moon" was/is their best offering... ;)

I guess you can come on over and unload all music in my collection that is pre-1981, since obviously, I'm not qualified for it.

...it's because you've got a bunch of pink floyd "fans" in here who think that the wall, dark side of the moon, and animals are the only floyd albums that exist.
and i'm surprised saucerful of spoons hasn;t been mention.

According to them Wish was the penultimate corporate sellout album, and it shows (though it was so well done it is still great) and Dark Side was their most collaborative and freeform work ever. That was before the wall was released though.

So you'd be a '56 model...I said "almost" none were born. That also goes for most on this site. "Dark Side of the Moon" was released in '73, I'm just saying most of these folks are under 34 years of age.

I think the memories I get from certain times push The Wall ahead of the rest, rather than the music. Randall Sloan's parties in high school.

Best Pink Floyd song is pressing the mute button.
I'm calling for a ban on Floyd, Aerosmith, zeppelin, boston, etc. I've heard enough.

I'm with you on Aerosmith and Boston. Those are two bands in my list of 10 bands that never should have existed.
1. U2
2. Aerosmith
3. Kiss
4. Van Halen
5. Journey
6. Boston
7. Foreigner
8. Nickleback
9. Poison
10. Guns N Roses
The bottom 7 are not necessarily in that order. There are more, but those are the biggest piles of shit.

I wish, then masturbation would be more fun. I just choose music based on quality, not how heavy it is in an attempt to advertise manhood. :p

Like to see all "The Division Bell" fans, most people gave up on them after Roger Waters. However most of "The Wall" and "Wish you were here" is actually written by David Gilmore. Oh and he is one of the best guitarists of all time (If you like slide guitar).
