So on my old pc I installed xp and it kept prompting me to unlock it and I let the countdown end. Now, it's locked up and the only thing I can do is connect. But I never installed the software to connect to the internet with. Is there something I can do?

i think he is trying to say that he fucked up and forgot to activate Windows XP, and now the trial run period is complete and he cant do anything.

Not a trial period. I Think it gives you 14 days to activate it or it locks up on you. Well I never installed the dsl software and don't know how to get it online to activate it.
