Laptop WiFi singal booster?

I have a laptop with built in WiFi. The signal sucks where I live. What are my options?

the signal sucks where you live? like your router signal sucks? you can move your router to a more centralized location or add an access point

if you leeching wifi from somewhere else or you cant control the signal, you can try a pcmcia card with external antenna. might be worth a bar at best.

I think leeching would be the correct term. I am in the barracks here on base. I've never seen anything higher than a "low" signal. :(

Try getting a buffalo card. I used one at a clients and was able to hit the wifi from places it had trouble before. You can also put a external antenna on the card for extra signal. http://www.google.com/products?btnG=Search+Products&q=Buffalo+wireless+cards

Do some searching and see what the newest card is. Also Google DIY wireless antennas.
