OK, for the Vista peeps. I have a 8800GTS with 640 MB of mem. Display properties lists that correctly, but it says I am sharing 767MB of system memory. How can I disable that? I have 2GB of memory and with this setting, almost half my memory is being eaten.
K, thnx

Disable onboard video in bios if I'm not mistaken.

no. I Know its not that. I had XP running fine without sharing memory. Now in Vista, its taking system Memory and using it as Videocard memory.

thats the weird thing. I didn't enable it to take system memory. It did it by itself. Its pissing me off. That and my Windows Server 03, and my Xp MCE box cant access and transfer files between the Vista. Im hoping its just a setting or something. Im going to do some digging, but if anyone has any pointers......keep them comming

Computers do not do anything by themselves. You probably set something to default or were playing with something else to cause whatever it is you're talking about. Video cards don't just randomly tell the bios to use 768mb of physical memory.
