But for those that haven't heard, In Rainbows will be released Oct. 10 and it will only be available for download. There will not be a "hard copy" released.

Here's the kicker... you get to name your own price.

Edit: After researching, I see that the album will be released in an actualy hard copy format sometime next year. I guess they're having label problems.

The way I've understanding it, they are collecting most of the profits due to not currently being on a label.

Correct. They have no label and no distribution contracts to deal with.
