I've heard from a few people say their digi ballasts blew out in a short period of time. Wish I had the link to the thread.

Anyway, I bought a kit from www.xenonlink.com at the beginning of the season and still operating strong. I was going to go A&R for their compact ballast but not for that type of money.

well damn. the fact that a new thread had to be created made it seem like it was something hard to get. I see R1 hid kits going for cheap every day on ebay and craigslist.

Jealous that you have a FZ1 and not a real bike?

I want some HIDs but they seem so hit and miss when it comes to quality. So many people I've known or read about on the internet have had ballast after ballast go out.

How the fuck do you know what is good and what is junk?

Ram57TA has HIDs on his bike, I think one ballast went out quick, was replaced free, and I *think* he's had them working fine for a year or so, his bike sees quite a few miles too.

HID bulbs won't fit as snug as regular halogens. I had to use a rubber grommet so the bulb will 1) hold in the housing 2) so the retaining clip would actually retain the bulb. It's all in the details :)

The install went perfect, I didn't buy one of the cheap ass kits, I searched around and did some reading to find out which worked best. The A&R Kit seems to be the best one around, $235 ( w/ tax because they are in Haltom ) was a small price to pay for the increase in vision. I think some of the 'cheap' kits were $170, but I'd rather have digital ballasts and 200 people backing it. I've already put about 500 miles on them.

I need a power commander next.

The below video really doesn't do it justice, we went to the new parts of the tollway last night, and my god, I don't see how people can drive with halogens, these should be standard equipment on all cars and bikes!

MAKE SURE YOU MUTE THE SOUND

The wind really fucks up the mic so unless you want to hear static really loud, you better mute.

Final warning, <blink>MUTE THE SOUND.</blink>
