I am running my first set of PPs on my sv650s. I put the front on about 1500 miles before the rear b/c I got a nail in the front tire before the rear wore out. I even took a 1200 mile trip to Arkansas. So right now I have around 2300-2500 on the front and about 800-1000 on the rear. Starting last Wednesday or Thursday, the bike started to feel loose like the tires want to slid out from under me in a turn. My first thought was that the tire pressure was low. I have checked it several times since this started happening last week and each time the tire pressure is in range of the stock 33 front 36 rear (within a pound or two each way, each time i checked). It literally feels worse than the stock tires and I get the feeling that its coming from the front. Can it be that this is just in my head or has anyone had a similar experience?

Also I did a lot of reading this weekend on the SV650 model line. Apparently it is set up for a 140 lb rider. Since I am around 205 I can understand some of the day to day things that I experience, but nothing like my current issue has ever come up while riding on my stock tires. On a side note I did read on one of the forums that the suspension on these bikes usually start to wear out around 6k miles b/c if the additional weight. I did buy a new rear set up to put on this weekend (if I get it) and the front will be addressed with my next paycheck.

Again I just wanted to check to see if anyone had any similar issues with these tires first!!??!!

I did notice on mine it handles better in corners with about 28-30 psi front and rear.

They just tend too take longer too heat up or atleast in my experience after they have some heat cycles through them.

May have been your road surface?

i run 29f 30r done 2 trackdays on those and never any problems.

Actually i have the same problem with my tires as well. But my front end feels like its fighting me when i turn. Like it doesn't want to turn. But also they had a recall on PP front tires. You might need to check to see if yours fall in it. But i'm thinkin of switching to a diff kind of tire. Due to the front tire wanting to wear bad. Glad to know its not only me having this problem though.

The recall was for the 2CT's i think. I dont think any regular PP's were effected.

If you have PP's on a bike and they're wearing quick, you either have not maintained them with air pressure, you're riding the hell out of them, or something else is fucked up.

I've got PP's on my stuntbike and 600RR, and i can usually pull 5k out of a front and ~3.5+k out of a back.

32/lbs in both, heat them up, and adjust accordingly.. is what i do.

I check the tire pressure everyday after work lol. I work at GP Ford so everyday before i ride off i check them and they are always 36 in the front and 42 in the rear. They dont seem to be wearing quick. The front jus seems to be wearing in a bumpy wavy kinda of way. We have a nitrogen air machine here for tires. Was thinkin of puttin that in my tires but dont know how it'll affect the bike. Think 32 in the front and rear for normal riding would be fine?
