read how the Busa is a claimed 194hp at the crank without ram air, and put down 177 on the dyno. also saw that the best anyone could get at the press release was a 9.98. We'll just have to see what the new zx-14 does. if I remember correctly at the '06 press release motorcycleusa ran a 9.8 right off on the 14, and schnitz ran a 9.7 on his first run.

LOL, you kawasaki fans, er um dealers ;) Um, stock to stock, doesnt matter. Put a pipe and lower a bike, thats how you go fast. Zx14's are fast, dont get me wrong, plus they put out over 190 usually with a pipe and tuning and fuel. But bet money the busa does better, it always has. The chassis on the busa is proven and racer friendly the zx14 is not. But stock to stock, kawi's are fast, even the zx12 was a faster bike stock. But put a pipe on both bikes and the tables turn. And who races a stock height bike in the 1/4? LOL

I actually ride a yamaha by choice. ;)
If I bought a 14 it wouldn't be for drag, and so it'd stay the stock height and length.

kawi, lol

I bet my 06' Kawi with 11,000 miles on the clock wastes your duc any day of the week. We can go to any track of your choice or a trip around 635 if you think you can beat it at any point please feel free to take me up on that offer. ;)

Ducati.......lol...I just paid 14 grand for an overpriced paper weight.
and please don't come at me with styling, because that's one of the ugliest damn bikes I have ever laid eyes on. :D

What a silly application of color, and stuff.

I was kinda hoping the side fins right out of 1984 would go away, but they decide to color them differently so they stand out more!

Sad, brand new and looks 10 years old. Makes good power though.

So what are the horsepower ratings for the '08 ZX-10R and ZX-14R? All I see as far as published numbers are the torque ratings. Is this going to be a new trend? I'm thinking it's going to be like the late 60's/early 70's musclecar wars where numbers were intentionally not published or were rated lower than actual due to rising insurance costs. Any of you dealers know?

Any track of his choice? I bet MSR, TMS, Oak Hill, TWS, etc. are all chosen ahead of any drag strip. How fast can you skoot around a corner with your pegs dug into the pavement? :p

I'll run that ZX-10 in your av as it sits going 635W from just before the left exit for 35 to 100 yards past where the exit and 35 merge. I'll do it on my 600RR that is down 1 in the front, only GPSs 150 banging the limiter

Marchesini wheels ain't cheap son! I diss on Ducs, but ride one or take a look at one up close and you understand. Where the japs use cast parts you'll find those some parts on Ducs are machined. More things are anodized as well. They use quick disconnect fuel lines which are SO much more user friendly and so are their wiring harnesses. You won't break any clips or hurt your fingers like you do when fighting with those shitty plastic plugs the japs use. They just feel "right" - that's the biggest thing to me. They are easy/stable to hustle around. Everything has good feedback and aren't head shake prone (not with the eccentric in the oem location, I've never flipped it around), not at all, much different than jap liters. However, I've never been on top of a 1098, things can change. I think it's cool that styling went back to sexy, price went down, and power went up. At least now the bikes are more of an option for someone in the market for a literbike.

Before you had to spend a shit load to purchase, then spend an assload to modify, only to just run with the jap liters in a straight line.

the silver and midnight blue colors have those panels colored the same as the rest of the body, so they do blend in better on those.

You forgot to mention the magnetti marelli ECU and dash, which is 5-10K depending on the options you buy if you were to buy it as a standalone. Duc's are bad ass bikes up close. PPL that diss on them just dont understand why the bike cost 35 grand. Theres 35 grand worth of shit and R&D on them, not to mention, they are ducati's :)

You know, I LIKED the ZX-12. It rode like a sport bike. Yeah it didn't feel as nimble but it felt a lot better than a busa and it still looked like your average sportbike. I don't know how a ZX-14 rides, but it sure looks like shit. Red frame and swingarm, YUCK!

and youre 06 will kill me b/c you know i dont drive crazy, on the track though i bet i would do pretty damn good. still want to go around one someday.
id sitll rather spend even 19k on a duc before spending 10k on any kawi :D
