I read on a corvette forum that you can use Nivea creme... like the face stuff / it's suppose to soften the leather.

Just wipe away the excess. Nick, what do you think?

I used Guardsman Leather Furniture Cleaner and Conditioner (Two Bottles) on my '89 Leather and took them from hard old leather to soft better than new leather. This stuff did things for my seats that no other "car product" has ever done.

I got it in a new furniture kit from Haverty's Furniture when I bought a new couch, even though the couch isn't leather. But you can buy the stuff from any Haverty's. I highly recommend it for Old Leather. It may be pricey, I don't know. But it leaves No Residue, and doesn't make your leather over shine like the fender of your car.

Most of the leather conditioners will replenish the oils that it loses over time. I use Meguiar's stuff with a MF towel and just take my time. It's no "wipe and dry" process either. If they haven't been cleaned in a long time, it should take you no less that 20 minutes per seat. You can also use an old tooth brush for the areas where the dirt is really embedded in the texture. Just take your time and use circular motions when cleaning.
